It's nine fifty. I don't care if I get grounded for a longer time, I'm going on this date. I'm excited and also very nervous. I don't know how it will go since it is very late at night on a beach. Now is not the time to be nervous, I just have to live in the moment.

I'm assuming that both of my parents are asleep, so now is my time to sneak out of this place silently. I put on a pair of black sweatpants and a dark blue t shirt. I did not feel like dressing up only to go to a beach. I quietly open the door so that I can bring my plan to action. My hope of this working failed miserably as soon as I see Jim sitting on the couch watching tv.

Fuck. "Oh, hi Jim." I greeted. He sat up and raised an eyebrow at me. "Hey. What are you doing?" He asked me. I breathed out and tried to think of how to get out of this. "Oh, nothing." I replied. He chuckled and knew that I was lying. I am by far the worst liar to ever walk this earth. "Are you going to see him?" He asked me. I had to be honest, because I am a terrible liar.

I nodded. He sighed. "Ok. I will let you go. But please be safe and come back here early so that you don't get in trouble." He explained. I felt happy after he said this. I was willing to follow these guidelines because he was allowing me to go. I was always closer to Jim because he understood me more than my real dad does. Which I think is kind of sad. "Thanks Jim. Can you not tell him?" I asked shyly. "I won't, if you stick to the plan then he won't even know that you left. Now go have fun." He said. I said goodbye to him and then walked out of the apartment once again.

The street wasn't as busy as it was during the day and I crossed it without having to stop. The beach was empty which I prefer and I would probably enjoy myself more than I thought I would. I see Asher very clearly, setting up a blanket. His face lit up as soon as I laid eyes on him. "Hey there, beautiful girl." He greeted in an affectionate tone. I blushed. "Hi." I said and then there was awkward silence.

"Do you want to sit down?" He asked. I nodded and took a seat on the soft purple blanket. He took a seat right next to me. We both gazed at each other and I admired his beautiful masculinity. He then took out a bottle of red wine and then was able to take off the cork. He poured the beverage into the two China wine glasses. One was blue and the other was green. He handed me the blue one and I took a sip. It was sour at first but then it began to taste good as it hit the back of my throat.

"How were you were able to access an entire bottle of wine?" I asked. "Oh. My dad really doesn't care if I drink as long as I'm not driving after." He said. I sighed and was in deep thought for a few seconds. I had the chance to wrap my head around everything and to say something. "I wish my dad was like that." I stated. Asher laid down sideways and raised his eyebrows. "Tell me about that. I'm interested." He said. I took another sip of wine.

"I swear my father is crazy. He does everything he can to make my life a living hell. I'm not allowed to date or do certain things most teenagers normally do. I'm positive that he doesn't like you and I can't figure out why because you are an amazing person. He really will not give me any freedom and tries to, I guess shelter me from the entire world. I'm not even supposed to be here right now, I'm grounded." I ranted trying to be as calm as possible. I laid down and Asher began to stroke my hair. I had this feeling in me and I didn't understand what it was. But i could describe it as feeling relaxed and soothed. "I get what you are saying, I really do. At the same time I wish that my dad could be a little bit more strict, to make sure that I won't do anything wrong." Asher said. "That's not his job though, you're old enough to make decisions. Just as I am. But no, my dad makes all of the decisions for me." I said.

There was something else I wanted to ask him. I didn't want to offend him. Throughout this entire night I have talking about me, I want to listen to what he has to say about himself. "You were adopted. Tell me about your life before Prince took you in." I requested. He sighed and continued to play with my curly hair. "I had a family for the first ten years of my life. They were the best parents I could ever ask for. We all seemed very happy for ten years. I lived in inner city Baltimore, but I lived in a house which is a big deal in that area. I don't know what happened with my parents, but they were gone one day. They left without me and I was all alone, and heartbroken. Child protection services found me and sent me to an orphanage. Those two years were miserable, I was picked on by other kids and I had never felt more isolated than within those two years. Prince came into my orphanage, out of all places and then him and I talked for about an hour. It was a great conversation and we were able to communicate and have an understanding for each other so well. He then picked me up and I will never forget what he said, "I want him, this is my son". I haven't looked back since." He explained.
