Starlight Sparkle galloped out of her sister's castle, fighting back angry tears. She knew friendship was the only way to defeat the Frozen Mare, but still. Couldn't Twilight have picked somepony else? Friends were such a nuisance. You had to take care of them or they ran away, like pets. UGH.
When she arrived in the heart of Ponyville, she came to a screeching halt as an orange pegasus with a short magenta mane flew past her on a scooter.
"Hey!" Starlight exclaims, "Watch it!"
The pegasus rode up a ramp, turned around in mid-air, and landed in front of her. The pony had a wheel and two wings for her cutie mark.
"You must be new here." She said.
"Huh?"
"Everypony knows that when I'm riding through, they better steer clear of the path." She said.
"Huh."
The pegasus took of her helmet, shaking out her mane. Extending her hoof, she introduced herself. "Name's Scootaloo. What's yours?"
"Starlight Sparkle."
"Guess I'll see you around, Starlight." With that, Scootaloo zoomed off.
"Ugh."
