"Don't tell me you need me to tie you to a bed before you actually stay put."

"You know, Sebastian," Dick said thoughtfully, hanging upsidedown on his bed and smiling at the masked man. "Your threats are no longer that threatening."

It had been some days after the dinner. Even though Dick wasn't that aware of the passing time, he knew that he had been missing for three days to a week.

The thirteen year old had given up on escape long ago. It would have been impossible to do when he wasn't sick, not to talk of now that he was having the occasional dizzy spell.

Plus, he didn't have a clue where he was. Even if he did escape, how would he reach Gotham? Wouldn't he just be killing himself quicker?

Since it was pointless, Dick decided that his best bet was to play nice and try his hardest to buy Bruce as much time as possible, the maximum of three weeks.

The strangest thing though, was that Sebastian was willing to help him. The man had provided Dick with 24/7 medical attention, constantly monitoring his vitals and making sure he didn't even consider escaping or overtask his body.

Everything Dick could want was given to him, with the exception of freedom of course.

"Come on, we have work to do." The man sighed and held up a coat and gloves.

"And I should work for the person who kidnapped me, why?" The bird pouted and crossed his arms.

"You sure are feeling snarky today." Sebastian walked to Dick's side and dropped the coat on his face. "Don't catch a cold."

"Aw, thanks for the consideration." Dick snorted and flipped to his feet, snatching the gloves out of the man's hand. "You still haven't answered my question."

"You're such an annoying kid, no wonder Batman hasn't found the antidote yet."

"Maybe you should lend him a hand since you're so eager to get rid of me." Dick said with a huff and shrugged on the coat. "Where's my mask?"

"I'm not a detective." Sebastian smiled and reached into his pocket. "It's nothing personal, kid. After months of deliberation, this was the most effective method of testing the lethality of my precious virus."

Dick rolled his eyes and snatched the silver mask from the man's pocket himself. "It's a win-win for you anyway. It doesn't matter to you if there's an antidote or not. In the end, I'm just collateral damage."

"Don't get so worked up, it's not good for your blood pressure."

"Seeing your face is not good for my blood pressure." Dick mumbled under his breath and walked passed the man.

Sebastian stopped him and placed a hand on the boy's shoulder. They walked out of the room together. "Stay close."

Dick sighed, letting Sebastian hold onto him. "You're really too sentimental for a kidnapper."

"What?" Sebastian smirked and adjusted his blood-red mask with his other hand. "Want me to gag you and leave you in a dark room to starve? I can arrange that."

"Haha, very funny."

"You have little more than a week left to live and you're still so cheerful, I really envy your youthfulness." Sebastian sighed wistfully as they walked down the hallway.

"You could have poisoned anybody, why did it have to be me?" Dick asked spitefully and started putting on his gloves.

"You're the sidekick of the world's greatest detective, figure it out."

"You think that Batman would put in the most effort because it's me?"

Sebastian's reply was silence.

"What's the work you want me to do?" Dick asked another question.

"Let's have breakfast first, then we'll talk about it."

Dick frowned. "Why are you so nice?"

"I already told you that—"

"Yes, yes." The bird chirped. "I intrigue you. But it has to be something more than that, I mean you're —"

"Don't read too much into it." Sebastian placed both hands on Dick's shoulders and steered him in the direction of the breakfast hall. "You're going to have a long day today."

"I'm not going to work for you!" Dick protested.

Sebastian's smile grew slowly. "We'll see about that."
