I walked through the paddock, side by side with Daniel. I wore my sunglasses even though it wasn’t that bright outside. I was still a little peeved at Dan and I wanted him to know it. We had barely spoken since the incident. And when we did, it was only for business. Honestly, I’m not that mad about what he did. It wasn’t like he left his clothes there on purpose. I was mad because he hadn’t apologized to me. Men can be so stubborn sometimes.
“So do you and your little boyfriend, or whatever he is to you have plans for the weekend?” Daniel asked looking down at me. I chose not to meet his gaze though. I just stared at his chest, which is eye level for me.
“First of all he has a name.” I said venomously.
“My bad,” he chuckled, not taking my tone seriously. “Do you and Kevin have any plans?”
“Its none of your business.” I rolled my eyes, though it was useless through my sunglasses.
“You’re sassy this morning.” he smiled, not letting me get to him. I took a large sip from my cup of coffee. I was not in the mood for this.
“Whatever.” I muttered as we entered the red bull racing garage.
“What happened? I thought we were getting along pretty well.” Daniel said stepping in front of me and blocking me from going any further. He large frame taking of the hallway, there was no way around. He looked down at me.
“We were.” I said shortly.
“until?” he pressed on, he was dense. How could he not see what he has done?
“Until you sabotaged my date!” I hissed, trying to keep my voice low and not attract attention from the nearby team.
“You’re really mad about that?” he raised an eyebrow.
“no.” I muttered.
“Then what is it?” He asked. I looked around for someone to save me, but there was no one nearby. I sighed.
“I’m mad because you haven’t apologized to me for it.” I crossed my arms.
“Really?” he asked with a condescending tone.
“Yeah, really. It shows that you don’t respect me.” I said growing more and more angry.
“Why should I respect someone who is acting so childish?” he asked. That was it.
“I don’t know.” I spat out and turned around leaving the garage. If he wanted to act like this then I wasn’t going to work with him. See how far he gets without his engineer. I could hear his footsteps behind me. I picked up the pace, but my short legs were no match with the long strides Daniel was taking.
“T.C. stop.” he whined.
“No.” I continued.
“T.C.” he said drawing out the C.
“What?” I stopped quickly and whirled around, barely giving him time to stop without knocking my over.
“I’m sorry.” he said. I paused. Would I be letting him off too easily by forgiving him now? We needed to get along for the race though and all I initially wanted was an apology.
“Thank you.” I said softly. I watched the Australian’s grin grow.
“I’m so glad you’re not mad at me anymore.” I imagined that his mouth must hurt he is smiling so big.
