    "Devin!"

Devin snapped out of his reverie. He turned to his older friend. "What is it, Ben?"

The older boy handed Devin a steaming mug of tea. "You seem distracted,"

Devin felt the other five boys' eyes on him. "School has me stressed," he replied. It was partly true. Kat had him worried.

"It's a girl isn't it?" Jacob said from behind his takeout.

      Devin reddened. "No,"

   "Oh, it is!" Payton shouted.

"He's blushing!" Elliot added, pointing to Devin's bright cheeks. They all burst into laughter.

"Who is she?" Tommy asked, seeming more down to earth than the other younger boys.

"No one, you wouldn't know her," Devin dodged the question.

"You wouldn't be so hung up on her if she was no one," Hayden said knowingly.

Devin could not fight with the boy's point. He sighed, running a hand through his fading purple hair. "She's in my class. Katherine Frost, she's a new student there,"

"Well, a name won't do justice. You need to describe her to us. Maybe we know her," Ben said assertively.

   Devin cracked a smile. "Sarcastic,"

Everyone but Jacob was disappointed by the one worded response. "Sounds like me," he said chuckling.

Devin smiled. "I know, but she's more closed off and colder,"

   Jacob was smiling.

"Hey, why are you smiling? Devin has a problem!" Ben scolded, smacking the second oldest on the back of the head.

Jacob snorted. "Is she talking to you?"

"If snarky comments count then yes,"

   Jacob smiled. "She'll come around,"

"Why are you giving relationship advice? You have never had a successful one yourself," Ben asked, everyone, bursting into laughter. The topic was lost in a sea of jokes and other exciting news.

A/N

Kind of a filler chapter compared to the last chapter but it's important I swear! More chapters are coming too.
