This story is based off of a Doctor Who episode, I do not own the plot or any of its characters aside from Mary.

The Doctor runs through the crowded streets of pompeii, searching for Donna. He found the TARDIS and with one day until vesuvius erupts, they need to get out now. As he searches he runs into a girl, that is much stranger at second glance. She looks about 20 years old and has long, unbrushed, blonde hair that reaches her lower back, no shoes or socks, a dirty night dress, a golden ring on the middle finger of her left hand, and a guitar pick necklace that had 'adventure' written on it in chinese. She has strange scars on her neck, two white dots on each side. He can tell by the style of the dress that it belongs in venice during the 16th century. But there are more important things than an out of place dress, and he almost had forgotten her until he heard her shout in an american accent

"Wait, Doctor!" then he turns around tells her

"Listen, I get it. You know me but you know a future version of me. I dont know you and right now there's more important things than explaining time mechanics."

"I know, find Donna, get in the TARDIS, get out before vesuvius explodes." she inturupts.

"Wait a second, how do you know that? You know what, nevermind, I have to go." He tries to leave but she grabs his arm.

"I've been looking all over for you, I'm not letting you out of my sight."

"I'm actually looking for my friend now,"

"and we can look for her together." she inturupts again. He sighs than says

"Oh, fine." then starts speed walking to where he and Donna landed, but the girl pulls him to a stop.

"Can you slow down, I've been running around for the last ten minutes, can we walk?"

"How d'you get out of breath that fast?" she laughs and says

"Lets just say I should be on medical leave or something."

"Why?" He suddenly becomes more aware or her fast breaths, the layering of the scars on her neck, and how un-naturally thin she was. He can even see a few ribs on her chest.

"Spoilers" she says.

"What's that then?" she laughs again and says

"Just something an old friend used to say"

"And what's it mean?"

"It means that even if I could tell you I wouldn't, so it's time for a subject change." she says with a smile on her face. This is a very strange girl, he wonders how long it would take for him to get a straight answer out of her.

"all right then, what's your name?" he continues walking at a slower pace.

"Mary, Mary Sapienti."
