*Joyce's POV*

Zero was asleep at 5:00 AM when I got a call from Hopper.

"Hey um, is Zero there?" He asked.

"Yeah, do you want me to wake her up?" I offered.

"No, no, I just, um, there's a newcomer here in the station. He said he had two brothers and his mom was pregnant with a girl. Doesn't that ring a bell?" He explained.

I sighed, "That does sound familiar, maybe it's Zero's family he's talking about." I suggested.

*Will's POV*

"...maybe it's Zero's family..." I listened through my bedroom door. All I could hear was what my mom was saying, and barely.

What if this "family" their talking about are just some bad men hiring kids to pretend or something like that. I cared about Zero like a best friend, practically a sister. I didn't want her in harmful hands. I had to warn her.

*Zero's POV*

"Shh don't cry." I heard an echo say.

The voice was warm and motherly, but it wasn't Joyce's.

"Everything is going to be alright." It said again. I felt the sound go into my ears and sink into my closed eyes.

"I love you, I'll see you soon." It said once more. Then I was released from the hands of this voice and I hit the ground with a thud.

The ground was cold, wet, and black. It reflected my face, I was all alone and young, like a baby. I was in the void.

I woke up, screaming and crying. Will and Joyce ran into the room to see what was going on.

"You just had a bad dream, don't cry." Joyce was brushing my hair and hugging me. Jonathan had made breakfast and Will got ready for school.

"That voice..." I trailed off.

"What was that honey?" Joyce asked.

"Nothing."

Joyce was such a great parent, she always cared for her sons, and me, like a daughter. But I couldn't just tell her everything that easily.

"Um, I have some news!" She told me.

I looked up.

"You aren't going to be homeschooled today. I'm taking you out to lunch, and then to the station with Hopper." She explained.

"He doesn't like me." I sighed.

"No, no, he likes you, he's just getting old. He gets angry easier, and he already has to deal with Jane. And you know what a handful she is." She giggled.

"Oh, why are we going to the station?" I wondered out loud.

"It's a surprise!" Joyce smiled big.
