♪Life in a cell continued♪

*Warning, there's implications of homophobia*

"Get up now!" A voice yelled.

I yelped and fell out bed. I hit my head against the bedpost on the way down and rubbed the back of my sore head.

Joevy laughed at me.

"Don't worry. I did that on my first day too."

I got up and brushed myself off and sat on the bed. I was still rubbing the back of my head and glared at Joevy.

"Shut up." I mumbled.

This place, and Joevy, still aggravates me to no end; especially Joevy.

Joevy stood up and and placed a fist on his hip.

"Let's go. You don't want the guards to come in here."

I rolled my eyes and walked over to pick up my second shirt from the end of my bed. I put it on to hide the fact that I slept in my clothes, and fixed my bed-tousled hair. I looked over at Joevy, who was still standing there-looking at his nails? idiot.

"What time is it?" My tone was surprisingly missing the exasperated feeling I had.

Joevy looked up at me and smiled as the door opened to our cell. As we walked out the door and when the guards started to flank us to take us to wherever, Joevy answered, "One-twenty."

I snapped my head at him as my eyes widened. I slept through most of the day!

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I whispered.

Joevy scrunched up his nose.

"You look so cute when you sleep. Did you know that you make little puppy noises when you sleep? The puppies that were just born? Ugh, so adorable!"

I flung my hands in exasperation, but didn't say a word. Creeper! He's a creeper!

"You're so cute," Joevy cooed.

One of the Guards that was on the right of us barked and laughed, and I was seriously considering of actually breaking Jovey's nose-no, sewing his mouth shut!

"Joevy-I swear-"

Joevy shook his head and tusked.

Most of the Guards were smiling at this point, "You should never swear Ashten. It's so dirty."

He wagged his finger at me; as if he was my imaginary mother (I don't have a mom). I rolled my eyes at him.

"You're such an idiot Joevy-or should I say, Mom?"

Joevy looked at me for a second, and tilted his head back and laughed. I sighed, giving up.

"Where are we going anyway?" I asked.

We turned the corner that's on the left. We past a disturbing picture hung on the wall that showed two men doing sexual intercourse. Joevy saw the look on my face. He gave an odd expression and turned his face away from me. Were his cheeks slightly pink?

He spoke a little quietly when he answered, "The cafeteria, this is the time when we eat lunch."

I nodded slowly, and a few steps later we were in the cafeteria that is filled with laughing, yelling-sometimes angry- people at the tables or through the lunch lines. As I looked around, I saw a range of people from maybe fifteen to maybe thirty or forty. The Guards- Well, Guarded-the cafeteria exists and other places. My eyes turned- I wish I hadn't- To see a glass window that only showed shadow figures that I could conceive as two males, doing something that he didn't want to see or think about. Joevy noticed what I saw and he gave me a rueful smile, which looked more like a grimace. A Guard pushed me, and Joevy into the cafeteria line along with some other people.

Author's Note:

I don't remember including so much images of men doing the devil's tango, lol. I wrote this in middle to highschool (Leaning more towards middle school), so I guess I wanted to beat readers over the head that Ashten isn't all too happy with homosexual imagery.

I had it in my head the Ashten isn't homophobic. He doesn't like sexual stuff in general to be in his face, and homosexuality so happens to be prevalent where they are. Still made the warning, though. It's not too obvious that being uncomfortable with sexual stuff in general is Ashten's issue.
