Summary: A girl feeling isolated and lonely, her guardian angel reveals himself in her desperate time of need.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was sitting on a small brick wall that goes along a sidewalk, and behind me was a small forest of trees and flowers. My elbows resting on my knees, and my face in my hands. I was crying because of all the bad things that happened in my life currently. My mother died of a car crash, my first love broke up with me to be with a more beautiful girl, friends that either stab me in the back or moves away and doesn't keep contact with me. All I have is a dad that works his hardest to put food on the table. Sure, I see my dad, but only for like a second to a minute. We only ever spoke to each other when he apologizes that he can't stay longer, and me saying it's okay.

I have no one to hang out with, to talk to. No one to ask me "How was your day?" Or to give a shoulder to cry on. People started to avoid me because one of my back-stabbing friends told lies about me, saying that whoever dares to want to be friends with me, will regret it because I will steal stuff from them, or I will try to kiss them. Guys stay away from me too because my back-stabbing friend will say that my boyfriend broke up with me because I wouldn't leave him alone, or that I stalk him to make sure he doesn't cheat on me, or that I would be very clingy and embarrass him in front of his friends. I have no one. my own friends ruined my life; worsened my life. They made me an emotional train wreck, and for what?

What can I do? What will I do? I sniffled.

"I'm alone...I'm all alone..."

Then I heard a male voice in my head that sounded so sweet and soothing.

No you're not. I'm always here for you, even when others are not. Don't you fret.

I nearly fell backwards in surprise. I looked to see a ball of light hovering at level with my face. Then, the big ball of light burst, making a silhouette of a guy that looks like he's around the same age as me. When the light disappeared, I saw a toothy-smiling boy standing in front of me.

I hastily wiped my tears away, "W-who are you?" I asked.

Why this is happening? How this could be happening?

The guy was still smiling as he bowed and looked up at me in the bowing position.

"I'm your guardian angel- though, I musn't show my wings to you for fear of being seen by others my lady. I am called Juri."

"Nice to meet you," I said.

I wasn't sure what to make of him, but something about his presence is soothing. Safe.

"Nice to properly meet you too, my lady."

"Why are you calling me that?"

Juri's smile was as radiant as the sun, a contagious smile that I caught.

"I protect you, I'm your loyal friend and to answer your question," he chuckled, "I like to think that you're my mistress."

I giggled.

"You're weird to think that, but I like you nevertheless."

Juri placed his fists on hips. Juri's grin never left his face.

"I like you too. I have been with you, assigned to you ever since you were born. I may look like your age, but I just appear that way because I believed I would stay in your comfort zone instead of showing myself as an adult. I don't think you'll feel comfortable talking to me then."

I was about to open my mouth to say something, but my cell phone rang, stopping me from saying anything. Juri looked at my pocket where the cell phone rang was coming from and back at me. I dished out my cell phone from my pocket and unlocked my phone. I had received a message from my dad. It was telling me to come home to eat dinner. The text told me that dad wanted me to come for dinner.

"My dad is actually coming home for dinner! Yay!" I yelped, bolting straight towards home.

I heard loud laughter behind me, then a bulb of light streaked right by me but stayed the same distance in front of me as I ran.

You sure seem happy. Juri's voice sounded through my head.

"Of course, I am! I get to be with my dad for longer than a minute!" I yelled.

I jumped over a log that was in front of me and kept running until I came to my neighborhood. Just speak in thought.

People will think you're insane if they see that you're talking to nothing. Juri sounded amused by how excited I was.

I slowed down to a walk and started passing two-story houses and a dog that kept barking at me until I was three miles away from it.

So no one can see you, could they see you if you're human?

I could hear Juri chuckle ring inside my head. I nearly tripped, I didn't think that mentally talking to him was going to work.

I'm an angel, I told that to you before my lady.

I rolled my eyes, "You kno-" I snorted. You know what I mean.

Juri's chuckle sounded in my head again.

How do you know that I do? he asked.

I passed two more houses and I walked onto my driveway. I looked at the ball of light.

Quit teasing me.

Juri chuckled in my head again.

When I looked into the driveway, I didn't see dad's car there. In my senseless hope, I thought maybe my dad parked in the back yard. But I quickly dismissed it as a helpless hope. I stopped in the middle of the driveway, my hopes struck down.

My shoulders slumped. I should've known. I leisurely walked down the rest of the way to my front door. I must have interpreted it wrong, he must've meant that he wanted me to eat dinner, not that he would be joining me for dinner. Why did I get my hopes up? He never comes home for dinner, he comes home right when I go to bed!

Juri transformed into his human form and smiled sadly at me. He slung his arm around my shoulders and opened the door and escorted me into my house.

"This is what I'm here for my lady, to be here for you when you desperately need it."

I looked at him, smiled, and shook my head. "I wish that you call me by my real name." I said.

Juri nodded, grinned at me, and squeezed my shoulder.

We stepped into the kitchen, and I withdrew from Juri to find something to eat. Juri pointed for me to sit at the table and started to look through the cabinets. I shrugged and sat closest to the stove.

"What would you have me call you?" he finally asked.

He took out some ingredients from the cabinet, took out some food from the refrigerator and took out a pan and started cooking something. I don't have any idea as to what he was cooking. "Please, call me Angel."

He turned around and smiled at me.

I rolled my eyes and added, "If you want to still think of me as your "mistress"." I did a quote on quote to mistress. "You can call me Mistress Angel, or whatever."

Juri nodded.

I was curious about what Juri was cooking so I tried to look at what he was cooking from where I was sitting, but to no avail. I sighed and got up from my chair to stand beside Juri. I looked at the pan to see what he was cooking. He looked sideways at me and continued to smile and looked back to what he was doing.

"What are you cooking?" I asked.

"Mac and Cheese and pork chop." He replied.

"Great." I walked back into my chair and sat down.
