i was at school, and i took my chance.

i approached her with high confidence.

i asked her out.

serenity stared at me for a few seconds.

i couldn't make out her mood. her eyes were expressionless and she had a blank stare.

my stomach had a bad feeling.

and my legs almost gave out, but she whispered the words "yes."

her eyes and face still remained expressionless.

i grinned and pushed those thoughts back, not wanting to accept the truth.

for the first time in a while, i enjoyed the rest of my day.

by the time we got out of school, she wasn't anywhere to be found.
