"But you've already done so much for me" Tyler would stand up, gently touching Josh's elbow, grabbing his attention.

"I haven't done shit." Josh would pull away.

"But you have. Every night I used to come into the forest, alone. Searching for a reason to stay alive." Tyler would chew on his lip, not used to talking about his mental health. "It was really dark for me. It felt like I was stuck on this cliff- surrounded by water. With all the resources I would need to survive, but so alone. And when you're alone, you think a lot. And even though you could survive if you wanted to, you still wanna jump into the water. Because at the end of the day, there really isn't a point." Tyler would look sheepishly up at Josh, who was frozen solid.

"I-I knew you were struggling but the way you put it into words is..." Josh would gently grab Tyler's face.

"Over-exaggerating" Tyler would huff, annoyed with himself.

"No, Tyler. It's lyrical. It's the type of understanding that could help others understand, too. It could help others stay alive." Josh would slowly lean in, entranced by the short brunette's lips; bottom heavy and naturally coral pink underneath his scabs and tears from nervously biting and chewing his lip.

BANG!

Josh would snap out of his daydream and over to Tyler, picking up a book with an apologetic look on his face.

"You seem so obsessed with the idea of using my experiences in the form of music to help others." He'd sit down on the piano. "Maybe we could try...?"

"You're jumping in a little head first." Josh would chuckle, still enamored by Tyler's quirky personality that had been hiding behind his walls of sadness and fear. "You should probably do a little research about song structure, maybe get into music theory, all that jazz. Do you have any musical experience?" Josh would raise a brow, pulling a book on music theory and setting it down on the piano.

"I played recorder in fourth grade!" Tyler would exclaim, obviously very proud of himself. "We got pieces of yarn for every song we could play, and used a karate belt type of system."

Josh couldn't help but laugh, holding onto the piano for support. "Screw it all, you're ready to start writing." He'd wheeze.

"I'll have you know I was a black belt." Tyler would huff playfully, eventually breaking character and laughing along with Josh. Once Josh ran out of air to laugh, he found himself watching Tyler, appreciating the way his head raised to the sky as he laughed, the corners of those irresistible coral lips in a natural upturn.

"Josh?" Tyler would chuckle.

"Y-yeah?" Josh would blink.

"You were staring off into space a bit. lil' spooky, Jim."

"Jim?" It was Josh's turn to chuckle.

"Spooky Jim." Tyler would nod to himself, suddenly in sass-mode. "Thats what I'm gonna call you from now on."

"Alright." Josh would shake his head, a goofy grin spread on his face that only Tyler seemed able to create.
