"Where were you?" Jess asked, as I went back to the kitchen. "I was talking to someone." I wasn't only talking to someone, I was talking to Harry. He was different than I ever expected him to be. The opposite of his family, as far as I can judge him. "And the someone is?" She poked me. "I'm talking to you." She interrupted my thoughts. "To Harry!" I covered my mouth in reaction of my words. I actually wanted to keep this as a secret. "What?" The hole hours I didn't tell her what happened, but right before I could say something, Marcello just walked in and told us we were free to leave. "Thanks for coming girls." He smiled. "No problem." Jess and I grabbed our stuff and walked out. I put on my jacket on, as my body shivered, because of the cold breeze. "Now tell me about Harry." She ordered and I rolled my eyes. "Later okay? Tomorrow.." She gave me an impatient look. "I'll text you." I told and pulled flats out of my purse. "Glad I brought them." I smiled, but she seemed completely annoyed. "Seriously Tish? Can't you just quickly tell me what you guys did?"

"We sure didn't made out." I laughed." Jess crossed her arms in front of her chest. When would she realize her gazes wouldn't intimidate me. I traded my pumps for my flats, and than unlocked my bike lock. "So you won't tell me then." She gasped. "Later okay?" I waved at her than hopped on my old bike. "I promise. He was nice." Were my last words before I headed home.

When I came home, my mother started to argue again. This time about my late appearance. "You should've at least call me Leticia." I threw myself on the couch. Not in the mood for arguments. Not only was my mother going on my nerves, also my little sister Rue. "Did you bring me something?" She asked. "No I was working Rue.."

"Did you at least brought some money?" My mother added and went back to cooking. I rolled my eyes. "Look I got a loose tooth.." Rue proudly showed me. "Nice." I said, clearly annoyed by her. "Why are you so mean Tish? I'm just showing you my loose tooth."

"I'm not mean Rue. I just need some rest."

"That's what you always say. You never have time for me."

"Maybe because you are annoying." My mother went between us. "At least she helps me."

"Me too mom." I gasped. "I do more than her mom." She ignored me. "And why the hell are you wearing an oversized shirt. I just bought you a fitting one." She wanted to know. I tried to swallow the truth and came up with a lie.

"My new one is dirty. I am wearing Tyrese's one." She rose one eyebrow. "Mhm." And went back to cooking again. Good one Tish! I ran upstairs to my room and changed into comfortable clothes. Right after I got a text from Jess, I texted her the story.

Jess bear

For real????

Yeeess!

And What else??

That's it.

Okay

Well he told me something..

Wut?

I dunno if aI should tell

Why did you bring it up than?

He told me that he thought he did a mistake. He didn't want to attend the party

actually..

Wuuuut? Why?

I dunno!

Ask him!

How???

When you see him next time..

When is this going to happen?

I don't kno..

Okay not only was I curious, but also Jess. To be honest, I wanted to know more about Harry. I actually didn't though about his words, until Jess asked me what he meant. I had a feeling, that I would never see him again. I mean, I only got to see him because of the party, I've never seen him before. Maybe Clarissa could help me out, but this would be too obvious. And what if Harry didn't want to see me anyway? I shrugged my thoughts off and pulled my blanket over my body. What did Harry thought of me? Was I even interesting? I mean, we didn't talk that much.

The next day, Jess greeted me at school. We discussed a few things about Harry. "Do you like Josephine?" Jess randomly asked. "Huh? You mean his fiance? How do you know her name?"

"I heard people congratulate her and they said her name multiple times. Do you like her?" I shrugged. "She's nice actually." She chuckled. "Actually?" What did Jess expect? Okay she was engaged with a guy I found cute, but that was it. Harry was a guy I only found cute and interesting. It wasn't like we had a special bond or something. Okay jealousy was also a part of my thought about Josephine. "I find her nice Jess." She shrugged. "I don't. She seems so.. perfect.. too perfect. Same goes for Clarissa."

I laughed, "You don't like her because of that?"

"You know, some people are sometimes too perfect, that they appear fake." Okay this could be true, but she didn't seem too perfect to me, but hey, I didn't know her. "You don't know her.."

"She is kind of related to that racist family though." Jess mentioned. "She wasn't racist towards me." I frowned. Jess always seemed to be bugged by white people, when they talked to me. Sometimes I had the feeling she forgot she was white.

"Yeah I know, but I don't understand, why Clarissa and Josephine are talking to you, I mean.. they are racist. At least Clarissa." I gasped by her words. "So that's your problem?" She shook her head. "So you think she is racist only because she is dating Harry who belongs to a racist family? Jess you are too judgmental."

"Slow it down miss, I'm not judgmental here. Maybe I'm just trying to protect you from mean people." Protect me?!

"Why? I don't need your protection Jess, I know how to take care of myself. And remember when you told me to forget about Harry, because he also belonged to a racist family? And guess what, we ended up talking, in a nice way. He even gave me his shirt!" Okay the shirt part was something I kept from Her.

"What? You got his Shirt?" She gasped. "Oh, okay now I understand. You are trying to steal someones almost husband!" She threw her hands up. "I hardly recognize you, that was a bitch move." Now I was confused. I mean Harry gave it to me, I didn't ask him for. "He just gave it to me okay. He helped me!"

"But you couldn't say no." She laughed, but not in a nice way. "I said no, but he did anyway. And what's your problem now? He just gave me his shirt."

"Why did you kept it from me then?" I was left speechless by her. People around us seemed to be listening.

The hole school day we didn't talk to each other. All happened because of what? Because of my impression of Josephine, or because she wanted to protect me, but I didn't want her to? To be honest, she should apologize to me not the other way around. But that never happened today.
