【CHAPTER THREE】

Sara's knees hurt. On a good day she would be able to appreciate the dirty joke that went along with the thought but today was so not a good day. Loki was kind of scary in person. On screen he had looked kind of like a crazy greasy haired man straight out of some action movie but here, now, he held himself tall with an air of superiority. His accented voice was also something she had not thought he would have. She didn't even think some god from space would actually speak any English and yet.
"In the end, you will always kneel," Loki said aggressively.
The old man beside her started to shift upward and it only took her a second to realize that he was about to stand. She gripped his wrist and harshly tugged him back down beside her. "Just wait," She spoke softly in his ear. "He won't win, don't worry." The man stared at her with shock and confusion but thankfully decided to stay down.
Sara inhaled carefully before pushing herself to her feet. "You know, our history teachers are always telling us that history has a way of repeating itself."
Loki sneered at the sight of her. She saw the way he eyed her, as if she was nothing but an annoying mosquito buzzing around his ears. "Kneel before I make you."
"It's crazy because the bad guys," Sara continued, her voice growing stronger with each word. "They always lose. If not immediately then in the long run so why is it that future bad guys always repeat the same mistakes?"
Loki gripped his scepter tighter and Sara prayed that Steve was somewhere nearby. "I am not interested in your history, mortal." The scepter in his started to brighten up with an eerie blue color before suddenly a bright blue energy was being shot at her.
Without a moment of hesitation, Sara threw her hands up in front of her and stared in awe as a large black wall formed in front of her and the citizens surrounding her. The blue energy seemed to get absorbed into her wall of black energy. Blue fought black for a few seconds before finally the black overcame the blue. Sara pulled her hands down, the wall crashing down into the ground before she threw her right hand out. She watched in more awe as a ball of black energy raced through the air and hit Loki square in his chest causing him to fall to the floor.
She relished at the surprise on his face.
Steve raced to her side and the two made their way out of the crowd, keeping themselves between the citizens and Loki. "You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing."
Sara turned to Steve. "Did you really see Hitler?" The soldier gave her a sharp look, a look clearly saying 'be quiet' so she snapped her mouth shut. She just threw Loki on her ass and once again she's being treated like a child.
"The soldier," Loki sneered, pushing himself back onto his feet. "The man out of time."
"I'm not the one who's out of time," Steve told him. Behind them, the quinjet pulled up and a gun unfolded from the underside of the plane.
