Bill was waiting on Alma in his Impala that same afternoon. He honked the car horn a few times to rush her out but she came scurrying out the building's door before he could lay off it. He's left her once or twice before and she wasn't going let him even think about switching gears to do it again. She hopped in with a tote in tow and watched him quickly check his pager before looking up to give her a soft smile. She was surprised by that, she expected to be chastised for taking up too much of his time. He was never overtly mean with her, it was just that he had taught her that time meant money.

"Cooch, beeped," his smile faded when he sighed. "Two-fifteen..." he recited the pager code as he pulled away from the curb.

"She's running late?"

"Yeah, and there's a new girl coming in... so I guess you're going to have to check her out."

"Shit," she muttered under her breath. "So Blondie really quit then? I thought she was just having another one of her tantrums the other night?" She reached into Bill's jacket pocket for his pack of smokes.

"No call, no show last night," he shrugged. "She was getting sloppy anyway. Besides you were always making her jealous," he smirked, giving her a sly glance.

"Jealous?" Alma paused to light her cigarette. "Jealous of what? She was your favorite vacuum hoover. She's ridiculous," she huffed sending smoke out her nostrils.

He grabbed her hand, kissing her knuckles. "Relax. She's gone. Anyway, are any of your boyfriends from last night going to show up looking for you? Every time you go out on your own they come looking for you in my club."

Alma rolled her eyes. "Not my fault weirdos look for me. But no. And I know you're only fishing around to see if I hooked up with anyone last night."

"Well... did you?"

Alma shook her head, taking a deep drag of her cigarette before answering. "I didn't feel like it," she shrugged.

"Surprising..." he said unmoved.

"Oh Bill," she lightly laughed to herself. "When you act like you don't care, it's so cute."

Bill hadn't always been up her ass about who she talked to or who she would hook up with until lately. It was just that he knew she hadn't been with anyone else but him for months. She wasn't lying to him when she said she didn't feel like it but she also felt like she didn't need to be with anyone else. Even if that meant weeks worth of dry spells every now and then.

"Besides," she scooted closer to him, "what was I really missing out on when I had you this afternoon," she said peppering kisses along his jaw.

Bill laughed over her ticklish kisses. "Okay, okay."
...

When they entered TRIGGER FINGER XXX, they were greeted by Theo and all the girls lounging around the main stage before they all had to dress down for the night. All of them were batting their eyes affectionately at Bill and some even remembered to give Alma a friendly wave before she broke away to talk to the bar staff while Bill talked to Theo about expecting a certain visitor.
