Gabriel has been on guard ever since Moose claimed to know who he was. He was scared because of Moose; who could be anyone. He could be the person who lives really close to him or hell, even be his best friend! Well, now that he thought about it, he didn't really have a best friend other than his Moose. Everyone always got scared away because they thought Gabriel would prank them. It all just sucks.
Gabriel was so paranoid that it was easy for Sam to sneak something into his shampoo bottle. It was really easy to get in, since everyone knew him. Cas was home, so he just assumed it was to get something of Dean's. Sam just walked up to the room he knew was Gabriel's and found his shampoo.
He poured a bunch of mustard yellow hair dye into the bottle. He walked out of the house as fast as he can; and when Cas asked if he found the thing, he said it was probably at home.
