He sat in one of the booths in the corner of the quaint little cafe, watching her. He didn't mean to seem stalkerish or anything. She seemed a little on edge though, constantly fidgeting and toying with the charms on her bracelet. The cup in front of her, although she payed no mind to it anymore, seemed to still be half full and her gaze kept on drifting off to the clock on the wall opposite from her.
When she wasn't looking at the clock, she was looking at her phone or the door. Her booth was right next to the large window and inbetween staring at her phone and looking at the clock on the wall, she would occasionally look out the window.
Teddy looked down at his rushed sketch of the girl by the window and then back at her. He felt like he didn't quite do justice to her rambunctious curls and the small smile he'd given the drawing in place of the slight frown on the girls'face didn't seem to fit quite well.
Generally though, she was an interesting subject and Mrs Jones (his art teacher) had told him to start doing more people drawings rather than just sticking to nature and still life. He'd wanted Scarlett to be his subject but the girl couldn't sit still for two minutes to save her own life and she would constantly come over to look at what he was doing and give her crazy suggestions. This girl with the curls however had been there for almost an hour now. Since he'd mostly finished his drawing (more like a rough sketch actually), he figured he could go over and say hi instead of watching her like some weirdo. Besides, there was something about drawing and taking pictures of people while they were unaware, just going about living. It always seemed more real; no fake smiles, posing or anything, just people living.
Just as he was packing up his stuff, she swiftly got up and walked out of the cafe. Leaving the lonely cup she'd drank from earlier alone on the table. He caught a glance of her through the window, her head slightly bowed as she hurriedly walked away. He didn't get a good view of her face but she seemed upset. He wondered why.
