"I never thought I'd see the day" Scarlet eyed him, a mischievous smirk on her face. "Our little Theodore actually has a crush" she reached across the table to pinch at his cheek but he was quicker, swatting her arm away. He should have just gone straight home but Scarlet had promised to buy him coffee clearly because she knew he was a sucker for caffeine. Now, there they were, scar had even brought backup in the person of Avery. Of course they wanted to talk about this new 'crush' that he supposedly had. Teddy just wanted some coffee so he tried to stay focused on his cup. Emphasis on tried.
"We need a game plan" Scarlet went on "what do you think?" She turned to Avery, like he wasn't seated right there.
"Yeah" Avery perked up and then looked as Teddy "Have you talked to her at all? Because Scar said you just lurk in the shadows and sketch her face-"
"I do not lurk" he quickly cut in "It was one time" he directed at Scarlet "And she left before I got to her"
"Sure"
"This is not a game and we don't need a plan. In fact, there is no 'we'. Don't make this awkward for anyone Scar"
Avery couldn't help the small smile that graced her lips.
"You could just ask her to let you do a portrait of her for your next art class project still. Y'know, get a chance to actually talk to her" Scarlet shrugged, taking a sip of her milkshake. "And maybe she'd ask you to draw her like one of your French girls"
"That wasn't funny" he replied "and I have spoken to her already"
If that awkward encounter could count as an actual conversation, then yeah
"No!" Scarlet gasped
"What's her name?" Avery was quick to ask
"I'm not telling you that" he answered, completely ignoring Scarlet
"Fine" Scarlet picked up her milkshake again "I know what she looks like and I know she goes to our school. I'll find her before you even get to talk to her for real"
