I left early that morning, headed for Kats house.I pulled into her driveway and walked up to the door. It opened before I could even knock.
Kat stood on the other side, she had bags under her red, tear-y eyes and her skin was pale.
"Hey." She greeted.
"You look awful." I replied.
She laughed lightly. "Tell me about it."
I sighed. "Can we talk?"
She moved over and let me in.
We took a seat at the kitchen table and she stared at the floor.
"How're you holding up?" I asked.
"Just peachy." She replied bitterly.
"You miss her."
She scoffed. "Thats the understatement of the year. I loved her more than anything, Skylar and now... I don't know..."
"She misses you to. She's a total wreck without you." I replied.
Kat shook her head. "Well... she's on her own."
I stood up. "Now I know you don't mean that."
Kat just continued staring at the floor. "Sure I do... She made her choice."
Tears started to roll down her cheeks.
"She hates herself, Kat, she hates herself because she hurt you. She's going down a bad road and I don't know how to help her... I'm scared for her, Kat..." I replied, slumping back into the chair.
She looked up. "What do you mean?"
"If something doesn't change, she's gonna drink herself to death..."
Kat shook her head and crossed her arms. "I don't care."
"Bullshit!" I yelled, standing up again.
She gave me a shocked look. "What?"
"You heard me. It's clear you still love her, Kat and she still loves you. Are you really gonna let a stupid, drunken kiss break that up?"
She lowered her head and didn't reply.
"Then, you're weaker than I thought you were." I replied with a sigh before heading for the front door.
I angrily slammed the car door, letting out a long breath.
'What the hell's wrong with them? Can't they see they're meant for each other?' I thought to myself.
I peeled out down the street and headed to Twist...
When I walked in, I saw Blake and Jen sitting at the bar, while Wendy took orders. Of course Blake was already drunk.
I sat down next to Jen. "How's she holding up?"
Jen shook her head. "Not great."
"I'm fine." Blake cut in, swaying a little in her seat.
Wendy walked up to me. "What can I get for you?"
"Beer."
Wendy nodded and handed me a beer. "How'd, you know what, go?"
I shook my head, causing Wendy to lower hers.
"Who wants to play darts?" Blake asked, attempting to stand.
