The picture above is actually my friend's eye, but it's going to be used as the color of Kada and Jonah's eyes.
As Gabriela slowly opened the box, Kada, Jonah, and Megan came around the corner scaring her. She quickly shut the box and stuffed it in her bag. Megan gave Gabriela a suspicious look as Kada and Jonah hugged her.
"Gabbie, why do you always take the bus? Why don't you come with us and mommy?" Gabriela cringed at the sound of her little sister calling her stepmom mommy. She patted Kada's head and opened the door for her and Jonah.
"I take the bus because it's quicker. Now go so you're not late for school." Gabriela slightly pushed both Kada and Jonah out the door. The tapping sound of Megan's heel behind Gabriela made her turn around and look at her.
"Look here you little misfit. Just because you seem all sweet and kind doesn't mean you are. Now I suggest you get used to calling me your mother because I'm not leaving," Megan scoffed as she walked out the door, the clicking of her heels getting quieter as she got closer to her car. She stepped in and drove off at a fast speed making Gabriela roll her eyes once more before stepping outside. She walked to the street that was full of traffic and people in a hurry to get somewhere. Just as she closed the gate, her school bus pulled up to a stop and she climbed on waving politely with a smile to the driver before taking a seat in the clear back.
After about an hour of sitting on the bus listening to music and playing games on her phone, the bus finally pulled up at the school and screeched to a stop. Kids started hopping off and walking over to their groups of friends. Gabriela got off and walked straight inside to her locker, putting her bags away and grabbing her books. She shoved her phone in her back pocket as she shut her locker. She started walking down the hallway to class when she bumped into a hard, toned back.
"I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." Gabriela started to ramble on and on about how she didn't mean to bump into him, but she didn't even realize that he was staring at her, as well as his friends. Once she realized, she kept her head down and never looked up. She refused to make eye contact. She just stared at his shoes and then felt a hand softly lay itself on her shoulder.
"You're fine. I shouldn't have been in the middle of the hallway." His voice sounded like an angel and Gabriela got a little flustered. His hand slowly moved from her shoulder to her chin, slightly lifting her head up so that she would look at him in the eyes.
His eyes were the brightest green Gabriela had ever seen. He had a slight twinkle in them and yellow streaks which made his eyes unique. Once she looked into his eyes, she couldn't look away. He gave her a soft smile while looking right back into her eyes. They stood like that for about ten minutes until they heard the clicking of heels. Gabriela instantly whipped her head towards the sound and stepping away from this mystery man. Walking down the hallway was Paisley and her minions. Paisley was the schools biggest female bully and Gabriela's worst enemy.
"Grabiela. What are you doing here? Figured you would already be sitting in class working on someone's homework. Oh, speaking of homework, did you ever finish mine? The teacher needs it turned in by tomorrow." Paisley look down at Gabriela only because she was wearing 6 inch heels along with her fellow bitches. Gabriela turned and walked away as fast as possible towards her class, but not before she felt someone grab her arm roughly. She turned around to be face to face with Paisley.
"No, Paisley. I haven't finished your homework."
"And why not?"
"Because it is your homework and I'm not getting anything out of it. All those papers you gave me, I burned them." Gabriela pulled out of Paisley's grip and ran to class.
