It All Started With a Smile

As we entered the palace, Eve kept looking around at everything, the various paintings -the cheerful and the dark ones-. She was delighted by what she's seeing, the vases with the stories of old "mythological "god"" took her breath, the chandeliers which have different colours from red to blue, but she was mostly astonished by the living room, the furniture was made of various materials, one of the armchairs was made of many and different types of candy, the other was made of baloons, a chaise lounge made of fur all stitched together, a sofa made of half darkness half light, a throne made from bones and on its top two skulls facing parallel directions with vessels connected to each one of them, and finally a rocking chair made out of ashes, Eve wanted to sit down on the light side of the sofa, but we all told her not to, so I went to the basement and brought a plain chair made of wood and wax, "We're going to make you a chair like ours later... For the mean time sit here" I told her, she looked disappointed at first but then she smiled at me and sat down, everyone sat in his place, Chloe sat on the light side of the sofa, Ruby sat on the candy armchair and I sat on my throne. "The others are not here for now." I told Eve, "Let me just tell you a little bit more about us and what we seek." Everyone then turned their serious faces as they were listening, Eve looked at them, then when she was ready, she said "I'm listening."
- "At the beginning of time, your so called "god" created humans all equal" I said "But as humans kept living they became more and more curious about their world, and "god" answered the questions in their minds, it was untill humans started asking about "power", god then stopped answering their questions, but that didn't stop them, they started researching and learning on their own, which made him more and more anxious, so he gave them an offer, they would be sent to a place called earth but they will become mortals with only a century to live in order to discover by themselves that there is no need for powers, so the humans accepted his offer, they came to earth and lived their lives by befriending animals and eating vegetables and fruits. But then one of the animals got mad, so he injured one of the humans, the humans couldn't handle the thought of their friend getting hurt because of an animal, so they hunt him down, the animals simple minded as they are, thought that the humans didn't love them anymore, so they feared for their lives and it was not long before a war between the animals kingdom and human species began, everyone who died went back to heaven and told him that powers were necessary and that they needed it, so in heaven humans kept researching and on earth they were learning more emotions... Uh Chloe since you're still on the light side can you put Ruby in her bed she fell asleep in the middle of the story"
- "Finally, this is my chance," she whispered
- "I have four ears remember?" I replied
- "Yeah, yeah whatever" she said as she was stretching her body and yawning "you know well that this story is boring, especially that we've heard it many times by now"
- "Yeah I know, but we must tell Eve about it"
- "Whatever dude, let's just wait for the old man to come back, if there's someone who's good at telling this story, it'd be him"
- "I second that" said Fred
- "No!" Eve shouted "I want to hear the rest of it"
- "The old man will tell you about it" Chloe replied
- "I don't want an old man to tell me a story that's creepy and weird, I want to hear it from Alex" Eve said and she blushed
- "Cheese, can you be more childish?" Fred sighed "Don't you even dare Al..."
- "sure I'll continue it for you" I replied
- "you are such a weakling" Fred mumbled
- "Ok then" Chloe said as she was holding Ruby "I'll tuck this little sleepy head in her bed and I shall come back in few minutes"
- "Take your time" I replied
- "You don't have to tell me twice" she giggled
"why am I not so surprised" I thought
I turned back to Eve, and said: "now where were we"
- "the humans were learning more emotions"
- "oh yeah, so as they learnt about emotions while they were on earth, they learnt more about powers in heaven, and the more people came to heaven, more emotions came with them, and they started questioning whether god was really the strongest or if it's just a lie, so god became mad at the humans and decided he'd stop sending people to earth, but the humans on earth were also learning, so they learnt about reproduction - which lead to five years of humans-of-heaven questioning their purpose of existence because of the way god made them reproduce- so as they reproduced more souls went earth and more emotions returned to heaven, god was furious at them, so he told them that researching is forbidden and whoever breaks the rules will be sent to eternal torture, so they all obeyed, and the population of the humans on earth bottlenecked to 5000 humans... But one day, a human returned from earth, a human named Lucifer who lost his earth family when he was young, and was killed by other humans, but he didn't tell anyone about it, and he told god that it was fine, but it really wasn't, the days passed and his hatred for the humans grew stronger and stronger, he wanted them to perish, he started telling people about how god was afraid of the humans, that's why he made them stop their research, more and more humans listened to him, so they continued researching, god knew about this, but it was too late, the humans of heaven combined their information and made a new emotion called "lust" and spread it on the humans of earth, god wasn't happy with what they've done, so he sent them beneath earth, or what we call now "earth center" the place was dark and there was nothing for them to do or research so they were lost, Lucifer was still in heaven, he wasn't caught by god, but his hatred to humans was still found, so he went to where all humans who researched were sent to, but while leaving heaven and going to earth Lucifer's hate fed on him, so he started tearing up his skin untill nothing was left of it, his once feather filled wings became nothing but bones, so he used the skin he tore to make new wings, as he kept going down to earth's center, he fell into a pool of lava, the heat of the lava burnt his muscles, and turned him night-sky black, as he reached down to earth's center, he started shouting at the humans who were there: "humans of the heaven, your god has sent you here for he feared the amount of power we will have, join me, become my ally and together, we will show god who's more powerful!" He finished his sentence and everyone started cheering for him as lava was pouring from the hole he entered from turning them to something that looks like Lucifer, they no longer were humans, they became what we now know as demons"
- "Whoa!" Eve replied
- "That's not all, when the humans of heaven or for short angels knew about what is happening in the earth center - or what we know as "hell" - they asked god about what he thinks, he just laughed and said "I already know what's going to happen"
And that's where he got his nickname "the omniscient" but is this the truth? Is this just it? Are we just god's little puppets whose every movement god already know it was going to happen? If so... Why does he still send people to hell? So many questions, but that's the story that we've been told... Is it the truth? I don't know, but that's what we are trying to find out in this organisation."
- "that's too much... Well then how are you going to do it?"
- "the Humans of the heaven didn't like that some of them are being sent to hell because the demons changed their mentality on earth, so they started sending some angels in the shape of earth human, just like the demons are doing... And now for the shocking part..."
- "what is it?"
- "Just like I am a demon, y..."
- "Hey peasents I'm back." Said Artemas, he's a tall 7'2 buffed guy who's always holding an axe and his hellhound is always near him, he's got a thick beard and most importantly a really big moustache -which makes him really proud for some reason - and his voice is really deep that even that he spent two years in the palace, ruby still gets frightened by him, and as you'd expect from someone like him, he's homophobic.
- "Hey Artie" I said
- "I told you not to call me by this name man, it makes me sound like a child or worse... A gay!" He replied
- "Chill it's sounds cute on you, still better than Artemas" I replied
- "how dare you make fun of my name!" He said dramatically, "my name means the ring of buffs, the one follower of the goddess Artemis, the..."
- "Yeah, yeah, I know the story" I interrupted him
- "Good, now are you going to introduce me to this beautiful madmoiselle?" He asked as he tried to hold her hand and kiss it, but Eve got scared and rushed towards me, she got behind my throne and grabbed hold to it.
After what he saw, Artemas -or for short "Artem"- was terrified, And so was I.
- "I'm sorry madam, I didn't mean to frighten you, I beg your forgiveness." He said as he was trying to kneel.
- "STOP DON'T KNEEL." I quickly stopped him
- "I AM SO SORRY, I FORGOT THAT..." he tried to explain
- "It's fine, be more careful next time." I replied
- "You should've let him kneel, I want to see who's stronger." The skulls said
- "Quiet Fred" I replied "It would've been dangerous"
- "Can someone please explain to me what's happening?" Eve said feeling left out
- "Oh yeah, first let me introduce you, Artie this is Evelyn, she's the chosen one, Eve this is Artemas, he's the strongest here, physically" I said
- "Pleasure to meet you Mrs Eve." Artem said
- "The pleasure is all mine." Eve replied
Chloe then came back and greeted Artem.
Artem then sat on his chaise lounge resting his gigantic axe next to him, "Hey Chloe can you please take mrs Evelyn to her temporary room." He told Chloe with a serious look on his face, Chloe then took Eve to the 2nd floor, as they disappeared out of sight, Artem turned towards me and asked "Did you see it."
- "I did." I replied
- "She touched the throne without getting affected by it's darkness, hell even I almost died when I accidentally touched it that day... What is she..." He freaked out
- I replied: "The eye indicated that she's an angel, but I think there's more to it than that... she should've killed me..."
- "We must find out exactly what she is..." Artem said
