<(Y/N)'s POV>

I was walking through Seattle, Washington. I lived in a small village just outside the city with my tribe, the Akomish. I was in the city today because my father was supposed to meet with someone today. Looking around I saw people with horns, wings, and scales. To me this was normal, it was all thanks to quirks.

Quirks are special, superhuman abilities an individual can contain, usually unique to its user, and classified in many different categories. The first known person who was revealed to have a quirk was a newborn baby, born glowing in Qingqing city. After that people were reporting all kinds of weird things. Now, more than 80 percent of the world's population have been born with quirks.

Those unlucky 20 percent born without a quirk are classified as: "Quirkless." With the arrival of quirks, many people decided to use their powers for evil. However, groups of people decided to stand up and fight back. Today, these people are referred to as heroes. In the eyes of society, heroes are considered to be one of the most popular things ever. All around the world, there were schools created to teach students how to protect civilians and fight evil. Nearly every child has grown up with the desire to become a hero, whatever their goals might be.

I, however, was one of the people born without a quirk. One of two people in my family born, since quirks became common, without one. The first was my uncle, and naturally, my father is the number 4 hero, "The Electricity Hero: Shockwave." His power is called electrokinesis, he can absorb any form of electricity into his body, using it either to heal wounds to himself or others. He is able to weaponize any form of electricity he absorbs and can manipulate the electricity in the area surrounding him.

Despite my lack of power I was determined to help people and I had trained myself to fight hand-to-hand, with a whip, and worked my body as hard as I could. While walking I came across a crowd of people surrounding a burning building. Atop the building were two figures, one was obviously a hero while the other was a villain. I slipped to the front of the crowd and ended up standing next to a tall man with blonde hair and dead looking blue eyes wearing a plain shirt that hung loosely off his body. His face seemed to be caved in, almost like he'd had all fat and muscle drained from his body. He stood slouched over staring at the two atop the building.

"What's going on?" I question looking at the door as policemen help people leaving the burning building.

"Shockwave is fighting some guy that decided to try and burn the building down," the guy answered, he sounded almost dead inside. I should've known my father would be involved somehow.

Before I can reply I hear a panicked voice shouting from the entrance of the building where it seems they've finished evacuations. "My brothers are trapped on the third floor!" It's a girl, she wears a purple shirt, jeans and her feet are bare. Her clothes are covered in soot and ash, and her eyes keep flickering back to the door as if she wants to run back in. "I tried to get them out, I'm not strong enough and my quirk is useless in this situation."

"We can't do anything right now," one of the officers says, though I can see him take a look at the door contemplating going in. I feel the man next to me tense up as if he also wishes to do something. I take a look at him and question how much help he could be, must have some quirk.

"Please!" The girl is begging now. "One of them is a baby!" The officer flinches and I clench my fists realizing that none of the officers have the gear to go into the fire and my father is the only pro around. I look at the girl again as she collapses and begins to cry.

I don't know what comes over me, but I run through the door. I ignore the calls of the officers to stop, and as I make my way to the stairs I hear something collapse, blocking my exit. I can't worry about that now, I'm already inside and those kids need help. I climb to the third floor and am blocked by debris, the smoke is horrible up here and I can't help but wish that the smoke would just go away.
