Ella's P.O.V:
Holy.
Shit.
I.
Am.
Kissing.
Soul.
I thought, my mind having a mental breakdown. He broke the kiss, staring at me in embarrassment. "Oh my god I- um, I'm sorry was that- erm... Okay?" He asked, his cheeks turning as red as his eyes.
I smiled widely, giving him a peck on the lips. "It was better than okay... It was cool."
~~One Month Later... ~~
Ella's P.O.V:
Soul smiled and picked me up bridal style, dropping me on the couch.
"It's a better landing spot than the ground." I admitted, shifting over so then Soul could sit with me.
"Ahh. Finally. It's Friday night, time for some relaxing!" I exclaimed, stretching my arms.
It had been a long week. Repetitive, boring, and long. For five days straight we had to watch professor Stein dissect random animals for a solid hour, then do a load of training and learning.
The training had taken a toll on Soul, who was close to passing out on me. We had to resonate souls, and it was a complete success, but actually using Witch Hunter was tricky, for some reason. I was doing fine, but Soul kept getting distracted, and broke the soul bond.
I asked Lord Death about it, and he had told me that his old partner, Maka, had as strong of a soul as I did, and had mastered Witch Hunter and Genie Hunter while she was attending the academy. I nodded and gained an insight of why Soul wasn't resonating strongly enough for the move: He was reminiscing about Maka.
I shook it off, knowing how soft of a subject that is for him. I knew how it felt to have to let go of something that you held dear, and pretend that you didn't even know that it existed.
I snapped myself out of my thoughts and smiled at Soul, kissing him on the cheek. He turned his head right when my lips were about to hit his cheek, so I ended up kissing his lips.
"You know, you could've just told me to kiss you on the lips. I wouldn't have opposed." He put his arm around me and smiled. "That just takes all the fun out of it."
He then grabbed the Apple TV remote from the coffee table and picked the movie app. "Pick whatever chick flick you want." he said, smiling.
I scoffed, crossing my arms and smirking. "Do you really think a girl as cool as I am watches chick flicks?" I remarked, snatching the remote. "Give me that."
I began to scroll, passing the romance movies as fast as humanely possible. "Hmm... What about... This!" I exclaimed, clicking on "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" I loved superhero movies. My parents and I used to watch them the day they came out.
I stifled a cry, remembering my parents. "Why'd you have to go..." I thought, remembering the last words they said to me: "Don't let her win."
~~ Flashback ~~
"Mom!" I screamed, watching her mercilessly kill a woman no older than she was. She turned, her once ocean blue eyes turned to pitch black. I backed away, whimpering in fear.
"What's wrong, dear? It's just me, mom!" She exclaimed in a mock tone of my mother's voice. I shook my head and ran in the opposite direction of her. Suddenly, my father jumped out of nowhere in front of me, bits of rubble spitting upwards towards my face.
