Cirice opened her eyes to the world moving around her. Her stomach ached as she began to feel dizzy. Alex had her doubled over his shoulder, the other one carrying her bag as he trudged along through the forest.

By this time, the sun was beginning to set, it's rays casting long, beautiful beams between the trees. Cirice mumbled and Alex sighed.

“Great you're awake.” Cirice's vision swirled again as she was placed upright and onto the forest floor. She rubbed her head, trying to remember everything before she had blacked out.

“How far did we get?” she asked, glancing around at the thinning forest around her.

“We are almost there. Shouldn't be more than a few minutes. Here.” Alex pulled her up and handed her the bag. She shouldered it and looked at him.

“What happened back there?” she asked, a somber tone plaguing her voice. Alex gestured forward and she nodded. She followed him as he spoke.

Ghūl’s are ancient creatures said to come straight from the underworld. It also believed they are the souls if those devoured by the Erlking.” Alex started. Cirice's head ached.

“I have never seen one during the day. It is very rare for them to be up here even at night.” Alex mused more to himself than to Cirice.

“Then what was it doing here? Oh. And an ostrich? The fuck was that about?” Cirice shot, annoyed. Alex shook his head.

“They can shapehsift into many forms, the ostrich just happens to be their favorite. As for who sent it, I have a good guess.” Cirice was just about to inquire as to who that was when she remembered something more pressing.

“M-My hands,” she started, stopping and studying her pale fingers.

“They were on fire, but they were blue.” she said, scoffing.

“Hellfire. It is said those who wield it can summon fire straight from the depths of Hell. That would explain why it caught fire.” Alex said, pulling her along.

“Just through here.” They broke to a clearing and in it, multiple tiny cottages stood against the growing chill. They all circled a well, and their chimneys all smoked.

“What is this place?” Cirice asked softly.

“This is the home of the Sisterhood. Their leader, Cosette will help us.” Alex assured as he strolled through the small village.

“Ah, Alex Idris,” a young woman called from her cottage door. She was pretty, her fiery red hair contained by a string and greenery.

“Alpha is not happy with you, no sir.” she said, shaking her head. Alex scoffed.

“Sure, Lacy. Where's Cosette?” he asked.

“Ah, so you’ve finally found her? Took ya long enough. She's at home,” Lacy said, pointing a bony finger to the cottage at the head of the circle. It was elevated slightly on a small hill. They continued forward.
