May"May! Let's get down to King's Cross, you don't want to be late!" Rebecca called from downstairs. We'd sent my trunk over to Hogwarts the day before.
"Coming!" I grabbed my wand off my desk and my coat off the peg.
I met her downstairs, bouncing down the stairs with uncontrollable excitement. "Ready to go?" Said Rebecca.
"Always" I replied, smiling, and we both got into our little citroen.
"So... 5th year. Your mum always said it was the best year... - some crazy shit went down, apparently."
"Yeah, yeah, Umbridge and all that tea, you already told me years ago." I said, smiling. She rolled her eyes at me.
We arrived at the station at 10.00 and despite it being the 1st of September, it was a lovely day. I said my goodbyes to my Rebecca, who hugged me and ruffled my hair "Have a great year, sweetie." She said, with a smile and glistening eyes.
CJ
"Have fun at school," said CJ's dad, his voice shaking. "Don't get into any trouble, and that goes for both of you," he continued."Yes, dad," said CJ's older brother, Ben. He was starting his sixth year at Hogwarts, and was known for a bit of trouble. They both were, but their dad rarely reprimanded them because he was frightened of everything, even his mostly well-behaved children.
Mr James was very strange. When Ben got his letter six years ago Mr James was convinced it was some elaborate practical joke, but since he learned that it wasn't, he had slowly been driven mad, tiptoeing around CJ and Ben, muttering to himself angrily.
On more than one occasion he had broken down crying over something as simple as a broken coffee machine, or a missing sock.
CJ's cat, Alan, meowed loudly in her lap. Alan was a small, floppy black cat with one white paw that had a lot to say.
Mr James parked outside of Kings Cross, knowing well he wouldn't go inside.
CJ and Ben stepped outside of the old rusty red car into the early September warmth, before retrieving their trunks from the boot. Ben's owl hooted loudly, making Mr James jump and swear.
"It's okay, dad, it's just big owl," CJ murmured. Big Owl was the creative name Ben had given his large, grey bird in his first year.
"Well, enjoy yourselves. Skype me or something,"
CJ and Ben looked at each other awkwardly.
"Uh, We can't use our phones in school, remember?" Said Ben."Oh," said Mr James, before shaking each of their hands and getting back into his car, waving as he drove away.
"Well, That was shit," said CJ.
"Uh huh. Notice how clammy his hands are?"
"Like seaweed," said CJ.
"I'll get us some trolleys," said Ben, setting his trunk down.
May
Entering Starbucks. I spotted Isaac, Viridisthea and CJ sipping their drinks."Hey, guys! What's poppin?" I yelled, ignoring the stares the other patrons were giving me.
Isaac waved over his hot chocolate and Viridisthea pretended to spill her green tea.
I sat down next to them and ordered a drink. The server frowned at us, unhappy to see a group of happy children.
"So," I started, "any actual tea to spill?"
"Yeet. The Quidditch season is starting half a month earlier this year. It's gonna be lit." Said CJ. "I'm definitely signing up,"
She was always in the loop about this sort of thing, but she never gave away her sources.
"Course you are," said Thea. "It's risky and dangerous, so why wouldn't you?"
"At least I'll be doing something other than studying," CJ retorted. "Do you remember what fun is?"
"Uh, risking your life isn't fun," said Thea.
I pulled out my phone as they bickered and checked Snapchat and sure enough, students were already gossiping about said tournament. I looked at Zodiac's story:
Back 2 Hogwarts, S/R then N/R
"Zodiac's here- shall we snap her?" I asked them. They nodded- Isaac and CJ were absorbed by their technology- they were trying to get the most out of their phones as they simply did not work at Hogwarts. Viridisthea sighed- she was pureblood and her family was strictly against technology as they believed in old fashioned magic values.
I snapped Zodiac: r u at Kings Cross?
she replied in seconds: Yh

"She's on her way." I said.
About two minutes later she burst through the door.
'Wazzup ma hoes?' she said, ordering a coffee from a disgruntled barista. He wasn't paid enough for this.
