After Starbucks, we all got notifications. All students that were blessed with technology were saying their final goodbyes before their phones conked out. I sighed, sent a snap to my story that said 'ending all streaks' and then shut my phone off. It was easier that way.We left Starbucks and walked leisurely to platform nine. Then, one by one, when we were sure none of the muggles were watching, we ran at full speed through the barrier. A very busy platform greeted us.
We threw our luggage recklessly on to the luggage compartment- Styx winced as hers made a smashing sound as it crashed against the wall.
"That sounded expensive," she said simply, before turning away and pulling herself onto the train.
We all copied, following Styx down the long row corridor that stretched down the train.
The carriage was a little small for all of us, but we made it work. Zodiac and I squished into the same chair, and CJ sat on the floor. The journey didn't feel very long- the absence of phones wasn't felt strongly- we were too busy telling each other about our summers.
"I went to this lit party. There was a chocolate fountain." I said. I felt a pang of sadness- I would miss my muggle friends- they all thought I was going away to a normal boarding school. Oh well- we still write to one another, I thought.
"Do you ever think the Hogwarts express will be replaced with something more modern?" Isaac asked, looking out the window thoughtfully.
"Idk. I think McGonagall is pretty set in her ways." Zodiac said.
"Well, my mum told me that, when she went to Hogwarts, they didn't just sleep with their house. They also ate with them and had lessons with them." Said Isaac, turning his head.
"Omg really? That's insane! I can't imaging spending that much time with Slytherin."
"Well, actually, and this is just a rumour, but I've heard that this year there's going to be two inter-house dorms. Like, people of different houses can live there." CJ announced. This sparked conversation.
"That would be so fun- you know, if we could all live together. Thea said, sipping tea out of her reusable Starbucks cup.
"I'm not sure- Thea, how would you deal parting from your Ravenclaw friends?"
In that moment our Gryffindor friend stormed into our compartment for a few moments.
She sighed heavily before saying; "Josh is looking fit AF this year, isn't he?" Joshua was a tall Gryffindor boy in the year above.
"That all you came to say?" Asked CJ, laughing.
"Yep. See you at dinner," said Talia.

Later that evening, as the train chugged out of Hogsmeade station, the group laughed and joked as they made their way to the carriages that dragged them up to the castle."CJ, I dare you to ride the thestral driving our carriage," said Styx, a fourth year they we're mates with.
CJ grinned.
"Challenge excepted,"
"Oh, don't," said Viridisthea. "Just because someone dares you doesn't mean you should do it,"
"No," said CJ, "it means I must do it. Get wrekt,"
She cracked her knuckles and made her way down the already moving carriage, her friends watching in anticipation.
