"I can't believe you made us late for charms!" Isaac huffed, jogging down the corridor.
"It's not my fault!" Viridisthea cried. "It's not every morning we get green tea!"
"But four cups? Really, Thea? You'll be pissing all day," said CJ.
"Wow, you guys are so classy," Thea murmured.
"Are we in Charms A or B?" Isaac wondered aloud, as they hurried down the huge halls.
"It's D, isn't it?" Said Styx. "I lost my timetable," They shrugged.
"We got given them this morning!" Said Viridis in a disapproving tone.
"Your point?"
"Hey! Shut up, fam," said May. "I think we're lost."
"Thanks for stating the obvious, I haven't recognised anything around here for the last 10 minutes." Said Zodiac.
The group groaned.
"I don't want a detention" Said Viridis, nervously. CJ nodded. "Yeah, that would suck, it's the first real day of class and we're gonna be late."
Isaac frowned. "I like charms... Maybe we should just turn around and go back the way we came. We don't know where this hallway leads."
They all murmured their agreement and turned around.
Just as they started walking back, the bell rang."dammit." Said Styx.
"Guess we better do some cardio." Remarked May.
"Yeah, we better start running." Isaac said to the group of stressing teens. "If anyone catches us roaming the halls during class, we are so dead."
So they all took off at a run, trying to be as silent as possible with hard soled shoes and stone floors.
"Good thing today is leg day," said CJ.
Just when they reached a bend in the hallway, Isaac abruptly stopped running and held out an arm, stopping the rest from falling on their faces from the momentum.
He put a finger up to his lips and pointed round the corner where footsteps could be heard.
'Filch' he mouthed, panicked.
'Look over there' signed Styx, pointing fervently at a small battered door across the hallway that none of them had noticed. It had peeling dark grey paint covering ashen wood and had clearly seen better days.
The footsteps were just rounding the corner when everyone piled through the door and shut it as quietly as possible.
They all stood in the silence and pitch darkness of the room, Zodiac with her ear pressed to the keyhole, listening to whoever it was pass by them.
"Phew, that was intense." Said May, panting.
"Lucky this door was here." said CJ.
"I've never noticed it before," said May, pensively.
"Probably because we go to school in a gigantic castle. Can we go to Charms now?" Said Styx.
Viridisthea took out her wand and said "Lumos!".
"It just seems to be an abandoned classroom, but the door seems to have a notice-me-not charm on it." Said Isaac.
"So how come we noticed it?" Said Zodiac and CJ at the same time. "Jinx."
Isaac shrugged. "Probably showed up because we were in desperate need of an escape or some other magic Mumbo jumbo."
Viridis mouthed the words 'mumbo jumbo' slightly disgusted, "So are we just going to hide out in here until lunch or are we going to make another break for it? I can't believe I'm bunking off my first class."
May opened the door slowly. "The hallway seems clear, now."
Suddenly, Isaac gasped. "I've got an idea!" He turned to Zodiac who was busy picking her nails with her wand. "I need you to punch me as hard as you can in the face." He said it with a smile that made everyone question his sanity.
Zodiac just stared at him, confused.
"As great as that plan sounds, I don't see how that helps us either get to charms or not get a detention."
Isaac was still smiling like a mad genius. "If you punch me hard enough, I can go to the hospital wing with all of you and we won't be in trouble.
"Don't you think it would be a bit Extra is ALL of us came with you to the hospital wing?" Said Viridisthea.
"Why does Zodiac get to punch you?" Pouted Styx.
"Well, you can too, if you want." He said.
"Isaac, this is ridiculous," Zodiac began, "I'm not gonna punch you. That would be-" but she broke off, for she threw a fist and clocked Isaac square in the face. He yelled in pain.
"Sorry, I thought the element of surprise would help."
"How?" May questioned.
