Collision Course

Chapter 27:

Clary was blasting music and painting when a knock on her door happened. She turned her music off and opened her bedroom door. Came in Emma with 5 clothing bags of what Clary could tell were clothes. She barged into her room and dump the clothes bags on her bed.

"What's all this?" She asked,

"These are choices." Emma unzipped a bag and shower Clary a quarter length maroon dress.

"Choices for what?"

"Well ever since you told me that cute cafe guy was a fashion photographer I did some digging and apparently he's photographing a runway show on Thursday, and I got us invited."

"Why in the world would you do that?" Clary demanded. She never expected Emma to do this.

"Because it's the perfect way to see him again. You've had his number for nearly 24 hours and you still haven't called him and in Clary logic that means you'll never call him."

Clary wanted to protest but Emma knew her too well. She spent the better half of the morning looking at Sebastian's contact number before deciding she couldn't do it and toss her phone aside and continued her latest piece.

"What makes you think I want to see him again?"

Emma just looked at her before handing her a dress. Try this on." She pushed Clary to the bathroom.

While Clary was in the bathroom Emma picked up her phone from the bed and scrolled and looked for Sebastian name. She knew Clary will kill her for this but she was just doing this for Clary. Thankfully Clary never changes her passcode so she was able to get in.

Hey it's Clary. So I was wondering what you were doing today?

Café Guy (Sebastian):
I was wondering when you
we're going to call. But I guess
texting is okay too 😂. Busy actually,
I'm at a shoot until noon then I'm
meeting an old friend.

"Emma this is a shirt!" Clary called from the bathroom, Emma rolled her eyes, any dress that stops above her arms Clary considers a shirt, she technically wasn't shy about her body but the dress Emma handed her was rather skin tight and plunging.

"It's a dress! But if you want to be safe here," Emma picked out the maroon quarter length dress she saw Clary look at earlier and handed it to her. It was a bodycon dress as well but at least it was longer so Clary wouldn't complain.

Emma read Sebastian's reply, and thought about telling him that she, Clary, would be going to the event he would be working at. But Emma didn't want her to seem like a stalker so she just left it out. She was about to text him back when Clary got another message. Emma smiled widely at the name that popped up.

Jace:
Hey I was wondering if I could bring anything on Friday?

So lover boy was coming over on Friday huh? Emma decided not to open the text so that Clary could see it herself. She set Sebastian a quick text

That's okay I just wanted to make sure you gave me the right number lol 😂 well have fun with your friend. I'm helping my roommate with her job.

After sending that text she deleted the conversation so that Clary wouldn't see and hopefully Sebastian wouldn't text back anytime soon. She threw the phone back on Clary's bed.

"This dress is so tight." Emma rolled her eyes, "just come out here and let me see."

Clary came out wearing the dress, her hair was still in a messy ponytail and she had paint on her face a bit but other than that she looked amazing.
