Jace stood in his closet looking at his suits. The invite said business casual, though suits were the better choice at these fancy events. So he went for a blue suit that he got from his grandmother (the Lightwood's grandmother) at his college graduation. A white dress shirt under a dark blue vest paired with dark blue fitted pants and some light brown shoes. He wore the watch Alec got for him and tied his hair back a bit, since it was getting a bit long. He finished when the door bell rang, that was probably Maia, she was always on time for anything.
"Look at you already dressed," she said as Jace opened the door. He rolled his eyes but allowed her inside. She had on a red velvet suede dress under a black overcoat, which he recognized as Isabelle's, they were roommates for a while a few years ago and always shared clothes, because Maia never liked to shop, and Isabelle always likes to have nice things. Though the dress was from Jace (Via Isabelle again) and some ankle boots.
She handed him her phone, "here take a picture. I promised Isabelle I would show her my outfit."
"I'll do it when we get to the event."
"Fine, it's better lighting anyway. We should go its starts at 7."
"Yeah But these things never start on time."
"Well I have Simon waiting downstairs."
"Why is Simon here?"
"He's our driver. He borrowed Becky's car."
Jace grabbed a light jacket and his wallet, Maia went ahead as he locked the door, when they got downstairs Simon was leaning against his sisters black BMW. Simon looked so causal compared to them and the car.
"Maia, Jace you guys look fancy."
"How'd Maia get you to say yes to this?"
"She said I could pick the first song we play on our next gig."
"Wow you're an easy buy." Jace said as he entered the car after Maia. Simon shut the door and went to the driver seat.
Simon and Maia talked while Jace opened his phone and saw that he got a text from Sebastian.
Seb:
Hey I was just wondering if you were on your way to the show yet? I know it says it starts at 7 but it'll probably actually start around 8. But it'll give you time to mingle.
