Chapter V

Nashi POV

"Say something."

"No way, you."

"Why me? She's your sister."

"Yeah, but you're the one that lov-"

"SHUT UP!"

I glanced back to see what everyone was talking about. They instantly grew quiet once they noticed I was listening. I took a deep sigh and kept walking forward.

After everything that happened in Magnolia, everyone has kept their distance from me. Even Nalu hasn't said one word since I asked for the keys Mom gave us. I only heard them muttering behind my back asking whether or not I was alright. And truth be told............ I wasn't so sure myself.

I had watched my own mother dying right before my eyes and only after seeing her again in what felt like centuries. I could still hear the sound of the Carriers' canon. The blast echoed in my ears again and again. The one sound that stood out from the loud blast erupted with every step.

A small jingle.

I looked at the keys. I had placed them on a small ring, but I didn't have anything to attach them to. Nalu only gave me a few of them since Mom wanted us to share them. There were three silver keys and five gold keys. I faintly remember Auntie Mira mentioning something about them in her old stories of Fairy Tail. They were called celestial keys.

My fingers twirled around the keys. They traced the edges of each one only to stop at one of the silver ones. I noticed earlier that each one actually looked somewhat different from the others. I gripped the end of the key and held it closer to my face.

"Exactly, how do you work?" I muttered while squinting at it. My arm then outstretched in front of me pointing the key in the distance. "Like, what do I say? Open..... um, door, gate, thing..... of the um..... whatever you are." There was this poof, and I stopped in my tracks. Did I do it right?

My eyes glistened excited for whatever it could be. It could be a giant shark that shot lasers from its eyes...... or maybe, a talking snake that shot lasers.....or even, even...........

The smoke cleared away, but there was no shark or snake. Instead, a weird white thing with a drill for a nose was looking up at me. I stared at it.

"Pun~" the weird thing let out and then started to dance. I kept staring at it.

"Uh, Nashi, what's that?" I heard Jean ask. I didn't say anything. I just kept staring.

"It's so.... so," my brother started. Everyone must have stopped to look at the strange thing.

"SO CUTE!" I finally squeled out. I was now grinning. I couldn't believe how adorable it was. I just wanted to scoop it up and hug.... so I did!!

"Aren't you the most precious thing I ever saw!? What should I call you?" I started twirling him around while trying to come up with the perfect name. As I kept twirling, I could feel someone staring at me. I finally stopped and looked to see who it was.

Sure enough, it turned out to be fish boy.

I pouted and glared at him. "Do you have a problem, Fish Boy?"

He then realized that I caught him, but he didn't say anything. He just looked away...... O...k, what's with him?

"Big Brother just likes to see Nashi smile."
