He looks at her,
there is something different about tonight.
There is something about the way
she smiles that is different than before.
Before right now, they were awkward acquaintances who never bothered
becoming good friends
and now I'm the dim light,
it's like they've known each other
their whole life.
He looks over to find one of his
other female friends,
she is laughing with someone
they both know well.
He looks into her brown eyes and
finds something he's never seen in her,
happiness.
She has always been down and on her own,
she's never loved before,
and she doesn't plan on doing so soon.
She turns around for a split second
she begins a conversation with an old friend.
And then the music stops
a slow song begins to play and he panics.
He runs towards the hallways which is all lit up.
And he escapes to the bathroom.
And she stands there, alone as the song plays
and as all their friends dance,
she finds her way to the bathroom.
And she lets herself fall apart.
Because he left her.
And he didn't know
she felt what he did.
She had finally fallen in love.
