You held back a small laugh when you read Taehyung's note to you.

The fact that the boy was so good at coming up with quick plans like that was what had you feeling giggly.

You were also quite impressed.

Next thing you knew, you had actually gone through with the plan and without as much hesitation as you had expected of yourself, you were opening your door to your apartment and walking silently out into the hallway where Taehyung had already been waiting for you.

You looked left then right and sighed in relief when you saw no one else there. Things would have been quite awkward if other people were around, but no one ever hung out in the hallway anyway so you didn't actually expect anyone.

Then you realized what you had to do.

Sit by Taehyung, back to back at least.

You were nervous as you watched his back and you knew that he knew you were there. He had manly shoulders that weren't too broad and he was tall and long, but not too skinny. It was hard to deny that even his backside was attractive. His hair looked silky and soft but also thick, and you wondered to yourself what it would feel like.

You carefully sat yourself down as your body started to shake from shyness and your nerves but it wasn't incredibly obvious.

You were immediately met with the warmth of his back even though your backs weren't actually touching, but they were close enough.

What you didn't know was that Taehyung frowned when he felt no warmth radiate from you. He felt your presence, but no temperature. Were you that cold?

He started to wonder if you were okay, but he couldn't say a word because you had already taken the upper hand and decided to say the first word.

"..hi."

"Hey," he called back softly and your heart pounded in your chest.

There's that smooth voice.

So deep..

Hearing how deep his voice was, even though you were already familiar with it, you still grew more nervous and pulled your hands onto your lap as you tried to increase your courage.

"Should I say something? Or do you want to start the conversation?" He spoke in almost a whisper, probably in an attempt not to scare you and it worked. You were relatively calm.
"I just don't want to be rude....since it was your idea-"

"Yeah," you almost whispered. "I-I'll start the conversation."

You heard him breathe in slowly then out and you found yourself matching your breaths to his rhythm.

You closed your eyes in hopes that it would make you confident. "Um.....I..I don't know what to say actually," you admitted then immediately wished you could take that back and form a real sentence. You scolded yourself internally for that.

"That's okay," he assured you.

You shivered, but not enough for him to notice.

"How was your day?"

You froze, mentally and physically, after hearing his question.

No one had asked you that in so long, and maybe that was because you had no one.

But I have Taehyung now, right?

Would this happen more often?

Did he actually care about my day or is he being polite?

"It was...." You wondered if you should lie. It wasn't a horrible day but it wasn't good. It was dull. "Not very good until now."

You nearly gasped after that left your lips. It was a thought that sounded fine in your head but once it came out you knew it sounded strange. Gosh, you were mad at yourself now.

Suddenly you heard him hum deeply in his chest and you wanted to shiver again.

Maybe it's just cold in here.

"That's no good, but I'm happy you're fine now."

"Y-yeah..."

Say something else!

"How was yours?"

"Not the best but it wasn't so bad because I thought of you and my day got better."

You swallowed hard after hearing his sentence and you hadn't even realized that a single tear had slipped down your cheek.
