Ever since you and Harrison both decided on just embracing the morning sickness problem instead of fighting it, it was a bit easier for you. You still tried to eat as bland as you could, cause anything close to flavour town made you want to throw up. But life is never problem less. You solve one, another one rears its head.
Since both your parents found out that you guys came back within one week, they were full of questions. All you told them was that instead of feeling the pressure of doing something on your honeymoon, you guys just wanted to lay low and spend time with each other, whether it is in London or Italy. They were satisfied with that answer, but you knew that there will be more questions.
It was your family's annual vacation time. You remember going on a vacation this time every year with your family to the lake house. But considering the fact that this year you only felt like travelling to the living room and back, you were glad that you won't be joining them. But that happiness didn't last long. Turned out that your dad, since he found out that you were back in town, not only invited you two, but Harrison's parents and his sister too. And everyone wanted to spend time with you guys before you had to go back to your normal busy lives. You tried to talk your mom out of it, but she was insistent. She was so excited that you couldn't say anything else.
"Why do our parents get along so well Haz?" you ask mournfully as you stand in front of the mirror, trying to make yourself look presentable for the dinner party your parents planned, kicking off the vacation. You guys were about to leave tomorrow.
Haz groans from the bedroom "I don't know, but is it bad that I wish that they didn't?" he walks into the closet. "You look pretty" he places a kiss on your temple.
"You mean cave-troll pretty? Or swamp-witch pretty?" you roll your eyes, knowing that no amount of make up can hide your racoon eyes.
"I mean mother of my child pretty." He wraps his arm around you. "Look, this dinner maybe a bit inconvenient, but it is the perfect place to tell our families. They'll all be there. It's easier." You nodded your head, realizing that he had a point.
"You think your father will kick my ass?" Harrison asks suddenly while driving to your parent's house.
"why?"
"you know, i mean, once they actually know how far along you are, and do the math, do you think he will kick my ass for knocking you up before we were married?" he asks nervously.
"No he won't, and if he tries to, I'll stop him. He can't say no to his little girl." You laugh, assuring him. "What do you think your parents will think?" you ask him after a bit of thinking.
"Oh, they will be over the moon." He turns the car, you were close now. "My mum will be so happy that she won't have to badger me about grand children, like she has to badger me about everything in life." He jokes as he pulls into the driveway of our house. His parent's car was already there.
"Okay. So we go in, and act totally normal." Haz nods his head in agreement.
"We tell them after dinner?" he asks and you agree. You were nervous, but all you had to do was act calm and cool.
The entire plan goes out your head as soon as you walk in, and take in the smell. It was of your mother's famous fish stew, made with fragrant spices and herbs. The smell was delicious normally, but in your hormone induced sensitive state, all you wanted to do was turn back and run.
"Hey, you guys are here." You dad spots you, quickly pulling you both into a hug, and bringing you into the living room, where the smell of the stew was even more intense. You tried to speak as less as possible, knowing that you might throw up. Harrison, noticing that something is wrong, answers your half of the questions as well. You just keep smiling.
