chapter 11

Beca's pov.

Aubrey is ordering pizza while chloe is looking for a good movie on netflix.

"What do you wanna watch, becs?" chloe asks me.

I point to the laptop and chloe gives it to me. I type in the movie name and chloe smiles.

"You wanna watch shrek? It's a good movie." chloe says.

She puts the laptop on the coffee table.

"Aubrey, we are going to watch shrek! Can you hurry up and come here or we will start without you!" chloe says.

I smile and shake my head. Aubrey walks towards us and points at chloe.

"Don't you dare chloe beale." aubrey says with a fake glare.

I make some space on the couch so that aubrey can sit down next to me on my left side while chloe is on my right side. Chloe starts the movie and i lay my head on her shoulder. I feel aubrey holding my hand and smile at her. It doesn't take long before i feel my eyes dropping. Before i know it, i'm asleep.

*beca's dream*

"Beca.... Beca, wake up."

i open my eyes and jump up when i notice where i am and who is in the same room as me.

"Get up, honey. It's time for school." she says with a smile.

I frown at her.

"Why are you here? Why am i here?"

to my own suprise i could actualy talk. That was my voice! Then i realised that this must be a dream. How else would i be in my old room with my mother next to me? It has to be a dream. Or more like a nightmare.

"Come on rebecca . Get up. You don't want to be late to school right? You know what will happen then." my mom says with a wicked smile.

Flashes of ice baths and belts go through my head and i jump out of the bed. The scene changes as soon as i jump out and now i'm in front of my old locker in the high school that i used to go to.

"Hey dyke! Show me your ugly face!" i hear someone say behind me.

I slowly turn around and look at him. It's my old high school bully. It's dustin.

"What do you want dustin?" i ask him.

I'm still amazed that i can speak again. Well, i guess that this dream has one good thing.

"What do i want? I want you to die, obviously." dustin says with a laugh.

I shake my head and look down.

"Hey, look at me. Look at me you stupid dyke!" dustin yells.

I look up and he smirks.

"It's time to say goodby." he says with a smirk.

He suddenly pulls out a knife out of nowhere and pushes me against the lockers. I start to struggle and tears stream down my face.

"Beca. Beca, wake up." someone says.

I try to look around but dustin grabs my neck and forces me to look at him.

"Sweetie, it's just a dream. Wake up. Your safe." i hear a different voice say.

It sound like chloe. Dustin tightens his hold and starts to choke me.

"Beca, wake up!"

*not beca's dream.*

"Beca, wake up!"

i jump up and look around. Where am i? Where is dustin? I suddenly feel a hand on my back and flinch.

"It's okay. You're safe. It was just a dream."

i look to my right and see that chloe is the one rubbing my back in concern.

"I'll get you a glass of water." aubrey says.

She stands up and walks to the kitchen.

"Are you okay? What happend?" chloe asks me.

I take a deep breath and grab my notebook.

I had a nightmare.

Chloe reads it and then looks at me.

"Oh really now? I didn't realise. I meant what happend in your nightmare, sweetheart." chloe asks.

Aubrey comes back and gives me the glass of water. I take it and smile at her in thanks. I take a few sips and then put the glass on the table.

"What happend beca? What was the nightmare about?" aubrey asks me.

I grab my notebook again and write down.

Just something about my past. I don't really want to talk about it. Can we eat? I'm starving.

They both read it and chloe sighs.

"Alright. We won't force you to talk about it but you do know that you can trust us right?" chloe says.

I know that. And i do trust the both of you. I just don't like to talk about my past. Not even my dad knows everything. It's not that i don't trust you guys.

They read it and aubrey smiles a bit at me.

"Alright, let's get some pizza. You weren't asleep for that long so the pizza is still warm. They only got here about five minutes ago." aubrey says.

Chloe opens the pizza box and she gives us each a slice. I smile in thanks and start to eat.
