Addiction is not a disease

It's something people say

So they feel please

I can stop,

Whenever I want,

Whenever I say

Addiction is a chose,

And I chose not to be,

I love the bottle, the drug, the sex, the love,

It's all big girl's toys

I can stop

Anytime

My friends, they corner me,

They say I have a problem,

I tell them to leave me be,

They were never a good friend anyway

You'll see.

I don't have a problem,

I just need one more hit,

Just one,

Just one,

Just one one one one

 . . . . . . .

 . . . .

 . . . .

I don't have a problem, I swear,

I can control this anytime I want.

I don't have a problem,

You do!

Don't take that away from me!

Give it back,

Please . . . please.

I just need

need

need

need

need . . . .

Addiction is a disease,

You see,

In my family,

Deep in our genes,

We lack a thing called dopamine.

That's the thing people use to be at ease

I'm not addicted to the bottle,

the drugs,

the sex,

the gamble

No no no,

I am addicted to happiness.

That happiness is slowly killing me.
