"I'll get it," my brother called as he sprinted to the door. Jess peered around it as my brother gave her a tight hug, Jess attempted to push him away. Once she was free, she got her mini hairbrush out from her school bag and started to brush her hair in front of the mirror by our front door. I shuffled around the by the front door trying to get my shoes on without having to bend down and undo my laces.
"Ready?" Jess asked.
"Ready," I confirmed.
It wasn't raining today but the air was still unpleasantly cold and both of us held our skirts tightly so that they wouldn't blow upwards in the wind.
At lunch I was sure that I would die of boredom pretty soon, the only thought that kept me from not falling asleep was that I had climbing later on.
"Shit," I cursed under my breath as my foot slipped off the hold it was placed on, I lost my balance and swung on to the mat about 3m below. Alex, my coach tried to suppress a laugh.
"Right, we're on routes today to build up your power endurance," Alex stated.
I groaned, I don't really mind doing routes as much as Alex thinks I do but because I don't do them as much as bouldering, the lactic acid in my arms builds up really fast causing me to not be able to hold the wall anymore. I always end up getting frustrated with myself because I can't do the route because my arms won't let me, that's why I need to build up my power endurance so that the lactic acid in my arms takes longer to form.
