Chapter 8

Izzy and I both help Alec and Hodge to the infirmary. Once both are on a bed Izzy runs to get her dad while I start tending to Hodge's wounds as they seem more severe. I see a gash on his chest and grab my salve I just finished putting some over his wound. I then point to one of his runes hoping he will understand that this will work with the Iratze rune. Hodge takes a good look at me. "You are the mundane Magnus takes care of." I just nod my head "Thank you I'll get someone to help with the rune healing."

I nod once more before I get up and walk to Alec swiftly sitting on the edge of the bed I touch his wounded shoulder gently looking over the gash before standing up and grabbing an alcohol wipes out of the table beside the bed. I go to dab the wound when Alec grabs my wrist. "you don't have to someone with just use my rune to heal it. I'm fine." I pull my hand away and dab the wound anyway cleaning as Much of it as I can. When I am done cleaning the cut Izzy and her father are back and the whole institute is on high alert.

"I'm back and I brought my father. Theia this is Robert." Izzy says. I look to her and the Robert then point to Alec's cut and the Iratze rune on his back. I can't use his stele so someone else has to.

Robert already has his stele out and I then move out of the way and next to Alec. "I see you have already help out with Hodge and cleaned out Alec's wound thank you. My daughter says you are an excellent healer and was working on something to help if another forsaken attack happened." Robert says to me his eyes never leaving his sons back.

I try and think of a way to answer when Hodge speaks from his bed. "She has, Robert. The salve she made is already on me and the pain already subsided a bit. The girl even knew that I would need to be healed with a rune too. Magnus has a smart one on his hands."

"Indeed, he does Hodge. Can you tell me what was in it, Theia?" I look to both Alec and Izzy for help."

Alec is first to speak up "Valentine tried to kill Theia, she got away, but he cut her throat. She can't talk dad." I look down at my hands when Alec goes to reach for me.

"Don't squirm." Robert tells Alec.

Alec is quick to retort. "I'm not. It doesn't even hurt." I then put my hand on his lap before I remember I have the list of ingredients with there uses in my pocket.

I take out the list and show Robert. He quickly looks it over "Thank you Theia this is a very good salve by the looks of it."

Izzy and I on either side of Alec wait with worry and patience for there father to finish up. Alec's phone rings and he grabs it going to answer when Izzy stops him. "No talking just healing."

While Izzy is on the phone Robert speaks up once again. "Theia could you get Magnus back here to set up some more protection." I nod and take out my phone telling Magnus to get here ASAP.

When Robert done healing what he can with the rune I stand and look at the now smaller gash. I nod to Alec almost asking for permission to touch him again. When I get no protest, I take a big glob of my salve and gently apply it trying my best not to hurt him anymore than he already has been. Once I am happy with the amount, I grab some gauze to wrap his arm to keep out infection. I hand the rest of the jar to Alec. "Thanks, Theia."

I couldn't hide my blush, but luckily Magnus texted me he was here, and I leave the room quickly to greet him. I quickly walk with him and lean against the glass railing watching him work his magic with precision and ease. I tune out the world around me and process what just happened. I don't come back until I hear Magnus. "-say that after you get my bill." With that my eyebrows raise, and I swat his arm looking at him angrily.
