You lean against the balcony railing as you stare into the crystal sky. Regret fills you as you think of the past. You fell in love with a mortal. A strong and immovable force that you love, and made the mistake of telling your father. You will never forget the look on his face as you told him you wanted to spend the rest of your life with her as a mortal. He looked so, betrayed and broken, as though you were committing a crime.

As punishment you're forbidden from going to Midguard, for the rest of your seemingly eternal life. The thought breaks your heart. To never see her flaming hair, to hold her close as she sleeps. The only comfort you have is when Heimdall tells you she is doing well, and that's all you can ever hope for.

As you reminisce, a feeling tingles through you and you know that something does not feel right. The air tastes different, sour. You hear steps behind you as they make their way further out on the balcony towards you. Arms with a familiar strength wrap around your shoulders and pull you into a hug.

"What is on your mind, my dear?"

"Father, I feel uneasy. Something is wrong but I can't fully sense it." You mutter into his chest with a sigh. He chuckles as he pats your head lovingly.

"You are still young, your powers haven't fully developed yet. Besides your brothers were looking for you. Run along now." He pushes you away from him with a smile. You still can't shake the fact that something isn't right. With a sigh you roll yours eyes.

"I'm not a child anymore, and I miss her." You pout over your shoulder to your father as you leave, a sad look in your eyes. You faintly hear him chuckle.

"No you are not but you are my youngest and most reckless child, and I must keep you within my walls for your safety. One day, you will understand."

With a shake of your head you leave your father to find your brothers. You check the library first as one brother is generally here learning something or at least pretending to. As you enter the room and look between the large bookcases the room begins to shake. You hold onto the bookcase to not lose your balance.

Something is wrong. The scent in the air has changed again. It's heavier too. You straighten yourself up and rush out towards the hall. You spot Thor below in the courtyard below. The sky has taken a dull look. You turn on your heel to meet your brother. You push through the guards and run as fast as you can, jumping down the few stairs you reach him.

"Brother! What is happening?!" You shout over the chaos of your people.

"I am not sure. I was on my way to father to..." he trails off and you follow the direction of his gaze. Your father stands with a woman, a woman filled with darkness.

You can see her mouth moving but you cannot make out what she is saying. You watch as your father gets closer to her. You do not understand what is happening but the woman looked enraged beyond reason. You squeeze Thor's arm as you watch her raise her weapon. Time itself seems to stand still as you watch your father die at the hands of this woman.

You release the grip on Thor and go to step forward but he holds you back by your wrist.

"There will be time to mourn later."

"If there is a later." You respond in a whisper, your father is dead and with that the security of the citizens is gone. Now you must fight. You summon your sword and you close your eyes as you feel the power rush through you. Your dress disappears and is replaced with a tunic with a leather corset and leather pants. Your hair is pulled back into a braid. You open your eyes and focus. You nod to your brother as he goes to find Loki and you hold the position. You charge into the fray and scream a battle cry as you block and cut your enemies down.
