"Well, if it isn't the new bride."
Yisun tugs at the reins, and the steed immediately stops. She turns to the owner of the voice and is surprised to see Princess Haewon on a horse of her own.
"Good morning," Yisun says, now realizing she hasn't seen the other since the wedding. She is truly mysterious, disappearing at times and appearing at others.
"Hoseok told me you've been coming here every morning for the past few days," Haewon starts, now guiding her steed to walk slowly.
"Yes." Yisun matches her pace. "I've always had a thing for horse-riding. What about you?"
"I don't usually come here," She says.
"Really, though?" Yisun holds back a smirk. "I'm pretty sure I've glanced you a few times. You come here at night, I suppose."
"You spy?" Haewon raises an eyebrow. "How immoral of a princess."
"I don't spy." Yisun tilts her head. "But as you know, The Royal Garden's lights are never off, and I spend most of my time outside the castle."
"It must've been someone else you mistook for me," Haewon says confidently, "You don't expect a princess in my place to lie, do you?"
Yisun smiles. "Definetly not."
Silence engulfs them, and Yisun takes that time to revive her memory of the night before. And the one before. And the one before. She is sure she saw the princess sneaking out to the stable late at night.
"I suppose you heard about the ball?" Haewon asks.
Yisun frowns. "What ball?"
Haewo chuckles. "You really have no idea. There's a ball next week. How comes you haven't heard of it? Everyone is talking about it. The whole Royal Family will be there."
"What for?"
"Nothing, really." Haewon smirks. "You know about the rumours, the king dying and all. He's just proving he's completely fine."
"Is he?"
Haewon stays silent for a moment, then she speaks. "Eager to be queen?"
"Not really," Yisun replies, "But at least this marriage better be worth it."
"You hate Prince Seokjin?"
"Not for who he is, but for what he has done."
"What has he done?"
"Married me for the throne?"
"Possible, but as I said, the king is fine. Seokjin doesn't need to marry."
"He does." Yisun stops her horse. "And you know why. Now, if you may excuse me, I have to take my leave."
Princess Haewon nods once, and Yisun guides her horse back to the stable.
Hoseok greets her with a smile and she hops off, landing on her feet.
"You don't look as happy as you were yesterday, Princess. Mang isn't doing a good job?" Hoseok asks as he caresses the said horse, a smile on his face.
