No one knew what she was. For she was kept isolated from the outside world. Her box; a thing of beauty, yet also as dark as the plague.
Many children thought she was a creation from the Great War due to her once rosy turned pale and her blonde locks turned frail. Her clothes turned green from the poisonous gases that had seeped between the brass clasps that kept her enclosed inside her black casket. The two fingers pointed upwards connoting peace and love, yet her hollow eyes presented children with the reality of the true harrowing nature that is war.

No one knew what she was.

Some say that it is only those who are picked by her are those who have the misfortune to meet her. Yet no known being to see her face was ever seen again. One died by hanging himself, the other drowned.

Two fingers pointed upwards. One hung himself, the other drowned.

No one goes near her. The spine chilling unnerving nature that you experience by just standing a mere foot away from her is enough to turn any living soul away. However, some are known to go forward, go close to her swaying slightly, whispering a lullaby, as they take another life threatening step towards the box. They say she whispers things, beckoning the children to take another step. Many children picture her face, smiling a sweet, sinful smile.
