Chapter 1 🌹: A Unisex School?

                        Unisex school?
     My comfort zone: watching TV, sitting on the couch and munching sugary and buttery popcorn with my cold chocolate drink with 90% milk, sugar and cocoa with 10% ice cube and water (please that's how I make my chocolate drink). I know right a typical couch potato. I'm currently watching Sanjay and Craig, my inspiration for Lassia talking. Enjoying my popcorn and chocolate drink, my mom and Syrus comes in. "I'm  home!" she says walking into the kitchen. Like I can see and hear you. "how was shopping?" I ask not that I care but I won't appear rude. She walks out of the kitchen and give a sneer, "shopping was really great like Syrus helped alot since you had a date with the TV". I snort "c'mon mom, shopping wasn't in my todo list, my loyal companion TV is on my todo list and since school would be resuming soon lemme just enjoy pls" I say.
           My mom gasps and sits beside me invading my personal space, "cupcake watching TV has always been on your todo list..." she keeps talking about my invisible or imaginary todo list and disturbing my TV show. "... Besides school won't be resuming soon." What?!😌My dream word. I sit upright interested in what she's saying,"really mom?" I ask grinning. "yeah-" I didn't bother listening to the rest. Like happy dance time. "you should listen to the rest then you can decide if it's a happy dance or a sad one" Syrus says eating an apple. What?! I look at mom who is now giving me a fake smile. Okay what's going on? I seat back and narrow my eyes at her.
                She smiles which is weird. "what's going on? What am I suppose to know but don't know?" I ask still narrowing my eyes. "it's nothing dear you just changing your school". What?! Those words keeps ringing over and over in my head. "what? Changing my school?", "yes cupcake, you changing your school from Merket School for Witches(MSW) to-" I interrupt her and Snatch my baby from her. No one eats my popcorn especially when it has excess sugar and butter. "to what? You can't expect me to start from the beginning and the pop corn isn't yours". She snort heavily and continue talking, "cupcake, just try to listen you would be attending Witches and Wizards High (WWH)" she says and walks to the kitchen. I make my decision almost immediately, yeah it's totally a sad dance.

          A unisex school? You've got to be kidding me. I run upstairs of course with my popcorn to my room, brought my wand and performed a soundproof spell on my room." Lassia, I'm changing my school to a unisex school" I say laying flat on my bed.

"finally! you can get a better boyfriend and see what boys are not Syrus or Kelvin". For the first time, I actually made sense of Lassia's words and Kelvin was my boyfriend.
         My mouth filled with popcorn I say "I don't really like the idea of changing my school. I Like MSW". Lassia climbs on the bed.
          "really? Last I checked someone gets an emotional breakdown when the person  sees Davina" she says. I hiss loudly and instantly lost my appetite. "hey don't be sad maybe changing your school would help you with your emotions and your heartbreak" she says eating my popcorn.
       
            I roll over and scream on my pillow. I gasp "maybe and maybe not. What if no one likes me? What if I embarras myself? What if -" "well you won't find out here. You need to get there first and you do fine. You always do fine" she smiles or what I assume to be a smile, c'mon she's a dog.
       
         "maybe and may not" "stop acting like that. Think positive" she says and sleeps or a nap, I don't know.
          
        "mom alright I'll change my school" I say to my mom who is now watching WAGS Atlanta, that woman is addicted. "that's good honey because you resuming tomorrow" she says without looking at me and eating fried pickles and she calls me a couch potato.

    Kill me already like I'm resuming tomorrow? And am just finding out today sorry NOW!
            
        "mom!" I grumble and stamp my foot on the floor and sit on the recliner. She takes the remote and pauses what she's watching and looks at me "stop acting like a child (I roll my eyes), we be going to the school tomorrow for your registration and resumption" she says and throw a fried pickles in her mouth and resume watching WAGS.

I fold my hands and pout, "c'mon cupcake. Don't be mad at me" she says with her eyes glued to the TV. I roll my eyes and stand to leave the house. "where are you going to?" my mom asks. "I don't know. Need to clear my head" I say shrugging.
              
Outside my house is bright with people moving everywhere. The sun is shining bright and also reminding me that I didn't use a sun block lotion. Ugh!!!! I made my way to one of my favourite places in the whole of Oz, it's McDonald. Yea there is McDonald in Oz. I sit on one of the booth, bring out my phone, plug in my earphone 🎧 and play 'shotgun' by George Ezra. I love the song.
          
A lady with Carroty hair and brown eyes with the name tag 'Tracey'.

'' hii. Can I have your order?"she asks with a smile. Like I prefer a frown to that smile, it's just so... Fake.

" hmmmmm, I'd love a mug of cocoa with whipped cream and marshmallow with chocolate syrup also a cheeseburger with extra cheese "I reply replicating her fake smile." okay. Are you alone?"she asks." yea". She nods and leaves.
        
'Are u alone' she asks,well loneliness is my thing. Back in MSW I used to have only 2 friends :Davina and Medal. Well Davina, I hate her now and Medal? Well Medal just left. I tried calling and using locator spell but none worked. I wonder if she's okay. After my dad died, I really distance myself from the rest of the world.
       
"here you go, a mug of cocoa and cheeseburger with extra cheese" Tracey says and leaves. My loyal comforter FOOD. Well food won't leave or break up with me. I take a huge bite from the cheeseburger and moan, "another form of life" I say to myself earning a few stares. Well I don't care because food is loyal. Then my phone rings, it's April, my best friend.

"yo! Bleach." I say trying to hide the fact that I'm angry that I'm in the middle of a serious business and she calls. Like some people have bad timing.
"hey jerk"
"what do you want Ril? like I'm busy right now"
"let me guess, you eating?" she asks deadpan.
"yeah and you are disturbing" I reply and continue eating my cheesy love.
"you molesting the poor food" she says then I look over to the cheeseburger. OMG! I'm a monster.
"whatever,I'm still eating."even if she says worst am still eating and I know she is rolling her eyes now.
" well school is resuming soon. Like time to face those Royal idiots"she grimaces. Yeah Ril attends Royal school.
"speaking of school, I'm changing mine"
"pls tell me you coming back to Royal school"
"No! I made it clear no more Royal stuff, I want to be normal"
"and you call eating like that normal?"I hate to admit but she is right.
" well I'm done eating am now drinking cocoa with marshmallows and whipped cream. Thank you "
" next"
"am so fucking grateful for my ex"
"I love that song" she says squealing, "and you lying, you not graceful for Kelvin, you still feel like killing him and Vina" well that's true. I sip from my coco, these people need some lessons on how to make coco.
"I hope there are cute guys in your new school" she adds, after noticing the silence.
"yeah, me too"
"just message me if you see a lonely cute guy, you know I make good company"
"stop hurting my ear with your flirtational words"
"whatever you say dork"she says. I finish my cocoa, I'm still hungry.
" gotta head home so I can prepare for tomorrow's resumption and registration "
" yeah! Take care of yourself, you know I hate seeing you hurting"she says in a serious way. I roll my eyes
" yes mom"
"better. I'll call you tomorrow. Bye psycho"
"psycho?"
"pls you give people cool nicknames. You have no idea how I'm trying to give you one" she says like she's needs air.
"you have no idea how jobless you are"
"whatever mushroom" she says deadpan.
"freak"
"melting ice cream"
"expired pizza"
"snort nose"
"dog poop"
"fish brain"
"you know what? I give up. Bye Ril"
"No foolish games. Bye" then she hangs. Ril is quite insultive, violent and most of her words are PG 18, making me believe in the stereotype concerning red-haired.
 

     I pay for my food and leave my mini paradise:Mcdonald.
          Getting home, it's already dark. Since I decided to visit the park. I ate dinner and went straight to bed because tomorrow is going to be a long day.
