In this short story Betty and Jughead are in an established relationship.

Betty POV.

Laying in my bed trying to sleep is the most annoying experience I will ever feel; I turn from side to side, over and over again with no sign of sleep approaching me. That is when a loud bang vibrates through my dark room; I located the sound to be coming from outside so I stumble to my window to see what it was.

Suddenly, a beam of light strikes one of the trees; attacking it with such fury. Quickly, I dash back to my bed; letting it guard me from the predator and stuff my head into my pillow feeling safety embrace me.

I don't know what to do I am panicking, scared and terrified. My parents are on a business trip so no-one is in the house with me either. No-one knows about my constant fear of thunderstorms. The way they attack with no hesitation; their moves are unpredictable and spiteful.

The only one I have ever told my fear to is my boyfriend Juggie;  I decide to pull out my phone and text him. Hesitation blows over me, what if he was stressed? what if he seems me as annoying? I push these doubts to the back of my mind and got to text but it seems he is always one step ahead of me. With a ping of my phone, I see the text:

Jughead: Hey, are you alright? I know you don't like thunderstorms. X

Betty: Of course I am, I'll be fine :). xx

Jughead: Would you like me too come over? X

Betty: Are you sure? It is quite late at night xx

Jughead: Betts, I don't care about the time, I just want you to feel safe. X

Betty: Okay, then please come over xx

Jughead: Of course, I will be there as soon as I can. X

Betty: See you soon Juggie xx

Jughead POV.

About to retire for the night, I am startled with the sound of a loud bang from outside. Immediately, I recognise it as a thunderstorm, I don't care particularly for this weather. My feelings on it are neutral but I remember it doesn't matter what I feel for it because it is still scaring Betty.

A memory pops into my mind. I remember when we were little, I used to always play a clapping game with her so she didn't get scared.

Taking my phone out, I text her and the next thing I know I am dashing overs to hers as quick as I can. Grabbing my jacket and slipping my grey beanie. I hop on my motorcycle and drive as quick as I can to get to my Betts. Not caring about the water drenching my clothes.

Betty POV.

Still resting in my defence position; I hear a gentle tap coming from the window. Lifting my head up from my pillow, I see him. My hero. A gentle and comforting aura ghosts over me; all thoughts of the thunderstorms rain over me washing away. Quickly, I leap of my bed and open the window; a gush of wind invades my room making it cold but with him around I still felt warm.

"Hey there Juliet" He says gently.

" Oh my god Juggie you are drenched" I say panicking.

"Hey don't worry about me, I came here to see you" He says while he holds my hands.

"Ok, do you want a change of clothes?" I ask.

"Yeah if you have any" he replies.

I go to my closet and pull out one of his famous 'S' shirts in the colour black, then he looks at me with confusion.

"How do you have one of my shirts Betts?" he asks.

"Well you left it here ages ago, when you stayed here the night so I just kept it" I say; a blush sweeping across my face.

"Well okay then" he says while chuckling a bit.

Jughead POV.

We both lay down on her bed in silence; only the noise of the TV could be heard. Soon enough, another sound fills the air as a big streak of lightning targets the house , causing the power to go out. I quickly pull out my phone and turn my flashlight on. Then I see Betty snuggled up to me, her head in my chest.

"Sssshhh it's going to be alright" I say calmly to her.

She then snuggled even deeper into my chest. "How about we play that game we played when we was kids?" I ask

"Ok" She says quietly and slowly begins to sit up and walk over to the window.

BANG!

Then we clapped until the next bang.

BANG!

Clap, clap, clap and clap.

BANG!

We continued this routine for about 20 minutes. The thunderstorm faded away.

I was about to leave when I heard a small, tired voice say "Stay Juggie please"

I say "ok Betts"

Then I crawl into the bed and I hug her till she falls asleep.

"I love you Juggie"

Betts says yawning.

"I love you too Betts" I reply with. Then I start to drift of to sleep.

"Good morning beautiful" I say while she turned to look at me-as she rubbed her eyes.
