sebastian's pov

Thea's been here almost a week now, and I've just spent that time letter her settle in, and get used to me. Luckily Jace has been able to handle most of my Alpha duties, but today he minds linked me abruptly letting me know he needed to go on a hunt. I could understand. Alpha males thrive off their mates. Our mates help drive off the madness inside us. With me having found my mate, I think it's hitting Jace a little more that he still hasn't found her. I just prayed for my brother and thanked God that I found my Angel.

Luckily, Jace was an amazing Beta, so most of the tough work was finished for the week. But, there was still loads of paperwork. The upside of paperwork is that I won't have to leave Thea. Even though she's getting more comfortable, she's still quite fragile, and her bouts of anxiety are still pretty frequent.

I kissed Thea awake making sure not to startle her, and when her bright blue eyes opened I melted. No matter how many times I look at her beautiful face I fall for her more and more each time. "Little One, you ready for breakfast?" She was still struggling to eat normal portion sizes, but she was getting there. I made sure to feed her snacks throughout the day on top of three meals.

"Mmhmm" She grumbled out. I just chuckled, Thea hated waking up, and usually, I'd revel in the extra time I get to hold her, but I needed to get pack work done.

"Up you go, Little One!" I picked her up, and carried her to the counter, setting her on top of it. I started to make breakfast when Thea piped up;

"S-S-s-ebastian? C-can I c-cook today? If that's alright?" She was avoiding eye contact slightly, and when I tried to look at her head-on, she ducked. I didn't want to make her feel like she had to serve me, but I know she'd expressed interest in cooking in our kitchen. How can I say no to my gorgeous mate? I can't. It's impossible.

"Of course beautiful. What is it that you wanna make?"

"My Momma used to make Biscuits N Gravy... I don't know if you'd like that?" I could see her eyes begin to light up, the way they do when she's excited.

"Sweetheart, I'd eat anything you cooked, it sounds delicious." She went to jump down from the counter, but before she could, I grabbed her hips and set her down myself. She blushed, and just moved around the kitchen finding the things she needed.

I was mesmerized by her, the entire time she cooked she was quiet, just humming every once in a while. She was so engrossed in her work she acted as if I wasn't there. I wasn't offended though, I noticed that she went off in her own little world when she became fixated on something. I was happy to watch her cute little butt traipsing around the kitchen as she cooked.

After we both finished eating, Thea put away the leftovers and ignored my pleas to let me do the dishes. She was quite bossy when she wanted to be.

"Thea, there's a bit of paperwork I have to do today, would you like to read in my office while I work? Or I can call Al and see if she'd like to hang out?"

Thea just shook her head at me.

"Words, baby. I need your words." Over the past few days, I tried to work with Thea to try and speak up more. If she could get away with it she often used non-verbal cues to get her point across.

"I want to help." She spoke so simply as if it was obvious.

"Help? You don't want to do boring paperwork."

"I. want. to. help." I could see the fire in her eyes, as she stood her ground. It was adorable, and beautiful to see her coming into her own. Becoming more confident, and assertive. So far, only when it's just her and I, but it's still progress.

"Ok, Little One. If you'd like I'll show you how to do the paperwork, OK?" She nodded, satisfied with my answer, and I carried her into my office. She rolled her eyes at my attentiveness to her, and I just smirked. I don't think I will ever stop wanting her in my arms. She was so little, it was easy to carry her where I wanted her to go. She fit perfectly in my arms.

When we reached the office, Thea wiggled in my hold. I begrudgingly let her down, and she stood and looked around the place. Seemingly off in her little world again, she analyzed the world around her. Sometimes I wondered if she looked at her surroundings so close out of fear, but since getting to know her I realized she sees the world differently. Little things that you or I might miss, Thea notices. Her passion for everything she loves is beautiful to watch.

She flitted around the room, mumbling under her breath.

"OK, Little One, are you ready for mind-numbing paperwork?" She rolled her eyes at me. I went and sat down at my desk, and Thea stood awkwardly next to my desk, "Come here Little One." She hesitantly shuffled over to me, curious about what I wanted. Grabbing her hips I pulled her close and placed her so she was sitting on my lap facing the desk. The little squeak she let out made me laugh, and before I knew it her bony elbow was placed in my side.

"A little heads up next time Mr. Alpha man." Thea was a bit of a short fuse. When she wasn't scared, she'd get annoyed quite easily, but it wasn't long before she forgot about it. Her grumpy attitude only made me laugh more, and I didn't need to see my Little One's face to know she was glaring.

I kissed her neck and pulled out the folders of paperwork I needed. Paperwork seemed to go much quicker. Thea seemed to enjoy the monotonous paperwork, fascinated by the structures of the different packs. She wanted to know anything and everything, soaking up every bit of information I would give her.

Every day with her seemed brighter. It sounds cheesy, but she honestly is the light in my life. She somehow managed to make the mundane job of paperwork enjoyable. But life can never be too peaceful...

Sebastian. I found her.
