>>ASHLYN'S POV<<

I opened my eyes, my vision blurry from exhaustion. I felt my eyelids close slowly once again, before I realized I wasn't in Jordan's guest room, and there was a man lying next to me. The covers were only over his legs, and his naked torso was turned away from me.

I jumped up, grabbing the sheets with me and covering my nude body with them, only then realizing I was in Adam's room. I heard him groan before shifting slightly, still sleeping.

"Hey," I whispered, poking him tentatively. "Get up," I said louder, although his body stayed still. I sighed before climbing onto the bed, dropping the covers onto the mattress.

I gently placed my palms onto his turned back, smiling at the warm touch before roughly shoving him, throwing him off the edge of the bed.

I heard him groan as he hit the floor, and I immediately stood on top of the mattress, jumping off gracefully and gathering my clothes that were strewn across the wooden floor.

"Get up, you lazy fuck," I teased, kicking Adam's side as I pulled on my sports bra. "I have to get back to Jordan's before he wakes up."

"What time is it?" he moaned, standing up and tugging on his boxers.

"6 o'clock," I responded monotonously, pulling my hair up into the hat and throwing my hood over it.

"What the hell, Ash! It's so fucking early!" he said, collapsing onto the bed again.

"I wake up at this time naturally. Anyways, I'm off," I responded, leaving the bedroom and tugging on my socks and my sneakers as I left the apartment.

I closed the door carefully, checking the mirror in the hallway once to make sure my disguise was in check before tiptoeing silently to Jordan's.

As I opened the door, grateful that he hadn't locked it when I left, I stepped in carefully, only to be greeted with Jordan sitting at the kitchen counter with a cup of coffee in hand. He was already dressed up, his hair damp from taking I shower I guessed.

"Where were you?" he asked, scrolling through his phone.

"Visited Adam," I replied, not lying.

He hummed in response. "Next time, just tell me so I don't need to go down to the lobby at midnight again like last time."

I nodded as he sipped on his coffee, setting it down before standing up and grabbing a cellphone from the kitchen table.

"This is my old phone and I managed to call the phone company to ask for a new SIM card and an extra plan since I know you should probably have one," he told me, tossing me the phone.

I caught it, the device almost foreign in my hands. The last time I had a phone was before I had ran, not wanting Landon to be able to track me down with the crappy flip phone I owned.

"Really? You made an entire new plan for me?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Well you don't have a house, so I'm pretty sure you'll be staying a while, right?" he replied, shrugging. "Plus, how are you gonna talk to me if you get in trouble with those people looking for you?"

"Oh, well, thanks," I replied, blushing slightly at his kind gesture. It felt nice for someone to worry about my well being for once.

He hummed against his coffee as he sat down again. "I already put in my number for you, and I put yours in mine, so you can call me whenever."

I nodded, smiling shyly once again as I looked down at the phone.

"Anyways, I have to go to work since it's Monday now," he said, rising from the counter and setting his mug into the sink. "I have some extra coffee if you want it, you might not like it. Sweeteners and stuff are in that little rack over there," he informed me, pointing with his index finger as he grabbed his keys and walked over to the door, taking his coat with him too. "I'll be back at like five or six unless I need to work late. You can order whatever for lunch or you can make something from the little I have in the fridge."
