Waking up the next morning was quite interesting. There was a lot of commotion going on downstairs. I struggled to get out of bed: I felt like I had gained one hundred pounds. After about a minute of me dragging myself out of bed, I went downstairs to see what was going on.
My mother was moving some of the furniture from the truck. I noticed Stiles was also helping her. "What's he doing here?" I mumbled.
"Honey, he's helping me move some of our stuff. Sheriff Stilinski saw me struggling so he asked Stiles to help me. Isn't he such a gentleman?" she asked.
I smiled and nodded my head. "Don't you think Stiles is a little . . . I don't know how to put this nicely... too frail to help you?" I whispered.
"I heard that, thanks," he said.
"Sorry, it's just you're kind of lanky and I didn't know if you were going to be able to lift the stuff. Sorry if I hurt your feelings." I quietly said.
He grinned and said, "It's okay. I always get underestimated. Although some of this stuff is a little heavy. Mind if you help?" he asked. I said yes but told him I'd have to brush my teeth first.
After doing all of the usual morning stuff, I started helping Stiles and my mother move the rest of our stuff. Stiles and I were talking about a lot of things. He asked me about some of the places I've been too and some of the craziest things I've seen. I told him about a time when we were in New York and I was on the train going downtown, I saw a man and woman arguing over a seat. It got so serious that police had to come on the train and escort them out.
I asked him about life in Beacon Hill and he told me it's full of surprises. He told me about the fun things in Beacon Hills, however, he struggled to come up with a few things.
"So, how's the school?" I asked while we finished up with the last box.
"What about it?"
"Is there any fun stuff to do in school?" I asked. He snorted and looked at me like I was crazy. "Yeah, that was probably a dumb question."
"Uh, yeah, it was kind of a dumb question."
After a bit more of small talk, Stiles ended up leaving because Scott needed him for something. My mother and I thanked him for the help and he left.
Later that day I unpacked most of my bags and moved my mattress into my room. I settled into the living room and was watching "Bones" on Netflix. My mom left for her a shift hours ago and texted me saying she was home.
"Hey Stella," she smiled as she walked in and dropped her stuff onto the table. I smiled back, saying hey, and she went upstairs without further conversation. I continued watching Bone for a little more before I went back upstairs to sleep. My first day of school was tomorrow, and I was a little nervous. Being the new girl was something I should've been used to, but I always get nervous around new people. I knew tomorrow was going to be interesting.
________I arrived at school a little early the next day. There weren't a lot of people but my nerves were still there. The school wasn't as big as I thought it would be. It was only two stories high and wasn't that pretty. This is where I was going to spend my day for an uncertain amount of time. Pushing past the double doors, I felt someone put their arm around my shoulder. I turned and was about to shout profanities until I saw it was Stiles. I rolled my eyes and continued to walk with his arms around my shoulder.
"Okay Stella, I'm your tour guide for this moment, you gotta go to the office and get your schedule so, off we go!" he exclaimed with a smile.
After getting my schedule, Stiles walked me to class. I was reluctant to go inside but he pushed me inside the classroom right into the teacher's desk. Thankfully, my arms were there to stop me from hitting my face on the desk. The teacher stopped talking and stared at me. I looked back to glare at Stiles but he was gone.
