You Didn't See That Coming: Pietro Maximoff x OC

Chapter 8: Together

"Hey speedy!" I yelled. Pietro ran back to me. "Stay safe." I told him. He nodded. Suddenly, the ground started shaking and we were rising into the sky. Pietro and I held onto each other for support. "What's happening?" I asked him. "I don't know." he looked at me with a worried expression. The ground kept rising. "I don't think it's gonna stop." Pietro looked at me. "Then we better get used to it." I steadied myself. "Bye." Pietro ran off. I smiled and teleported to where people were. I created a bigger portal to safely land, and had them walk through it.

My head started to hurt, I was running out of energy. The portal closed, just as the last person of the group went through. "Stark, you worry about bringing the city back safely. The rest of us have one job, tear these things apart. You get hurt, hurt 'em back. You get killed, walk it off." Captain Rogers said over the comms. I walked around, to find Wanda taking a breath. "You good?" I asked her. "Yeah, have you seen Pietro?" I nodded. "He's doing fine." I told her.

She ran off to help people get to safety. Out of nowhere, a few Ultron sentries came. I shot three of them, and the fourth one picked me up and flew off. I created a portal, and it ran into the ground. I created another portal, just before I hit the ground and was back on the road. I managed to make my way back to Captain America. "You good kid?" he asked as I got blasted by an Ultron Sentry. I nodded, and he helped me up.

"All right. We're clear here." I heard the bow man say over the comms. "We are not clear here!" I yelled as I knocked out a robot. "We are very not clear." Captain Rogers finished my sentence. I found Pietro and Wanda walking away from the Police. I noticed Pietro had a cut on his arm. "You're hurt." I told him. "I'm fine. I'm fine." he said. "Thor, we're out of time. I got a plan. They're coming for the core." Stark said. I teleported to the core, to find most of the Avengers there. I saw Wanda and Pietro reunite.

"Romanoff. You and Banner better not be playing hide the Zucchini." Stark said through comms. "Did you really have to tell everyone that?" I asked. "Relax shellhead. Not all of us can fly." she replied. "What's the drill?" she walked up next to Stark. "This is the drill. If Ultron gets a hand on the core, we lose." Stark pointed to the core. Ultron came flying towards us. "Is that the best you can do?" Thor yelled. Hundreds of Ultron sentries flew behind him. "You had to ask." Captain Rogers stated. "Thank you. Someone who gets me." I high fived the captain.

"This is the best I can do. This is exactly what I wanted. All of you against all of me. How can you possibly hope to stop me?" Ultron asked. "Well, like the old man said, together." Stark replied. Hulk roared. The Ultron bots came at us, and we all started fighting. I was teleporting every once in a while, but my powers were tiring, and so was I. I decided to fight classically with my gun and fists. We were in the middle of fighting, and Pietro ran and stopped in front of me. "Hi." I said. He then did the unexpected. He wrapped his arms around my waist, and kissed me.

It was brief, but the wait was totally worth it. "You didn't see that coming." he said, and then ran off. I smiled as I punched an Ultron sentry. The battle finished, we killed most of the Ultron sentries, and the rest were in the process of being killed. "We gotta move out. Even I can tell the air is getting thin. You guys get to the boats. I'll sweep for stragglers be right behind you." Captain Rogers said. "What about the core?" I asked. "I'll protect it, it's my job." Wanda said. I started to head back to a boat, when I had a weird feeling in my gut. And it had something to do with Pietro. I teleported to him and created a portal in front of me.
