"Wait, wait. Wait one minute." Betty put her hands on her hips. "You didn't ask him to come back?"

Ned dropped his face in his hands. "Fuuuuuck. Fuck, Y/n! Fuck!"

You shot Betty and Ned both a panicked glance. "Is that bad?"

Betty laughed sarcastically. "Is it bad? Hah! Of course, Y/n, of course it's bad. Peter isn't just a boy you like. He's your soulmate."

You stared at Betty with a profound, bolded silence. "Oh? He is? Well, Betts, I didn't know that."

She scrunched up her nose, looking like an angry little bunny. "I don't appreciate your sarcasm right now, missy! Babe?" She cast her eyes upon Ned, now, who was scrolling through his phone, Betty's, and your all at once.

He looked at her solemnly, shaking his head. "Peter's gone off the grid. He's not liking any posts on Instagram."

Your heart sank into the pit of your guilt ridden stomach. "Peter hasn't even called you?" you asked. Ned sighed. "No. Y/n, you're lucky you're my friend, otherwise I'd be really mad at you for hurting Peter's feelings."

You held your face in your hands, biting back the screams of frustration that burned at your throat. "I didn't know what to say!"

Betty tossed her hands up in the air. "Are you kidding me? When your soulmate says that he's in love with you, YOU SAY IT BACK!"

There was a vague "Elizabeth!" in the background. "Sorry, mom!" Betty shouted. "We're being too loud, you guys."

You stared at Betty with that bolded silence again. "You were the only one talking."

"Don't disrespect me in my own bedroom. Especially when I'm trying to figure out how to fix your relationship. Oh, gosh. What would Liz do?"

Ned shrugged. "Liz wouldn't know what to do, because Liz is actually a nice person and would never have hurt her soulmate this way."

You punched Ned as hard as you could on his shoulder. "Shut up about me being a mean person! I get it, I messed up! But you guys are my friends, too, so can you just help me instead of lecturing me about it?"

Betty sighed, regaining her composure and smoothing her hair. "We can fix this," she assured you. "We can. Peter is just going to need some time...alone time. If he hasn't called Ned then he's probably moping around at home with his aunt."

"Or he's going to run away and become a serial killer." You, Betty, and Ned turned to look at silent Michelle who was lounging in the corner on her phone. She shrugged. "What? This was a traumatic night for him. His inner serial killer may have been triggered."

Even though Michelle was joking, you burst into a fit of sobs. Tears streamed down your cheeks. Your face muscles burned. Maybe a good cry would do you some good.

Betty sat by you and soothingly rubbed your upper back. Ned shot Michelle a look. "Nice going. You made the happy one of the group cry."

Michelle sighed. "Not like you weren't being an ass either. Now, Y/n, I'm sorry. Peter isn't going to be a serial killer. He'll probably get caught after his first victim because he isn't that sneaky."

Betty threw a pillow at Michelle. "You aren't helping!"

Michelle apologized again, this time through a laugh. "I obviously don't mean it. You guys, this is going to turn out fine. Peter can't stay away from Y/n and Y/n can't stay away from Peter. Everyone knows that if anyone is leaving the friend group, it's Liz, because she lives far away now so it's hard for her to keep up with the gossip."
