I walk out of the barn while shaking off my boots on the tall grass. I look around and enjoy the view for a moment. All of a sudden I get a phone call.
"Hello?" I answer
"Hey Jessie! It's grandpa Joe! How are you honey?"
I chuckle a bit at his country accent. It's so comical. "I'm fine grandpa. Just doing some work. I got to put up the tree."
He laughs," Hahah your grandma Bernice is just doing that right now. Hey, we can't wait to see you ! Bernice and I are counting down the days!"
"Haha, that's great grandpa. So whose going to be there?"
"Oh just your usual Aunt Patsy great Aunt patsy and Aunt Pasty's sister Patsy."
I try to hold in my breath. Oh goodness all the Patsy's they get drunk like wild gooses.
"Yep. Gotta make sure to hide the wine." I say sarcastically.
"Haha don't worry honey. We will have no problems this year. It's Christmas! Joy to the world! Ho Ho Ho!" He says in his country Santa Claus voice.
"So who else besides the Patsy's."
"Well your grandma's friend Mae is coming with her family and her grandson Benjamin."
"Benjamin? Is that the rotten little boy who chased me around that one Halloween dressed up as a miniature Freddie Kruger?" I say rolling my eyes
"Yep that's the one babydoll."
"Ugh! He's so annoying!"
"Now honey that was ten years ago. Good ole Benjamin has changed."
I sigh, "Ha sure."
"Well honey Bernice needs help she's struggling over there like a skinny man at a rodeo. Hahaha, love ya sugar!"
"Love you too grandpa see you soon."
I hang up and sigh while rolling my eyes.
"Great." I say to myself.
