It's been four hours and I'm just ready to go home. I want to be at home for Christmas. I don't want to be here. I want to be with grandma and grandpa but I just don't want to be around the drunk Patsy's and that annoying Benjamin. Ha, and grandpa says he changed he's full of horse hay.
I fix myself a cup of warm apple cider and sit by the fireplace. Cynthia walks up and takes a seat by me. "Yeah, apple cider was my mom's favorite." She smiles trying to hold back the tears. I sigh heavy and say," Yeah, I miss her too." "Hey, how come you never came for Christmas? It was just her to come see my family." Cynthia sighs," Well my dad never wants to leave his home. So he would just let her go while we stayed here." She shrugs," It's just the way it was." I smile back while sipping my cider.
While we continued to have more conversation, Benjamin struts up to us.
"So, little Ms. Jessie Belle. How's life treating ya?"
I sit there in a moment of silence.
"I'm right here cupcake."
"Benjamin, don't you have horses to feed?"
He snickers and Cynthia just rolls her hazel eyes.
"Nah, not a farm boy no more. My parents hired somebody."
"Well, some of us still feed our horses Benjamin. Just saying."
Before he continues I say annoyed," Excuse me." I stand up and walk away.
Benjamin just still stands there smirking while drinking his apple cider.
I walk over to the table and grab my favorite Christmas cookie. A Christmas tree with ornaments as strawberry frosting. My mama walks by and asks me," How are you honey? Did you talk to some folks?"
"I want to go home mom."
"Aw honey, it's only for a week. It's not that bad. We'll spend New Years at home." She smiles while patting my shoulder while walking back to the living room.
I finish up my cookie and decide to step out on the porch. I stand by the railing and grip onto it in frustration.
I then hear the back door open and I turn around and well and behold it's "Freddie Kruger."
"Thought you would need some company." He says smirking.
"Do you have to follow me wherever I go Benjamin?"
"Just wanted to talk to you."
"Well you said enough." I say with a high tone while walking to the other side of the railing.
Of course he follows me. While walking closer he says," Look Jessie I'm not that type of guy no more." I says smirking while getting too close to me. Wow he's just gorgeous. His immaculate skin and blue eyes make him just adorable.
I smile. "Right..... you're worse!" I yell probably while blushing and walking back inside.
I look around for Cynthia and I find her talking to one of the Patsy's. Oh my gosh she must be drunk if she's talking to one of them.
I pour myself some more apple cider and retire to my grandma and grandpa's guest room for the night.
I leave my cup on the dresser and sooner or later I drift off to sleep.
