Albus stuck his hand up in the warm air, daring Gellert to grab it.
And so he did. Gellert allowed himself fall beside the other boy, their hands intertwined
Gellert turned to face Albus and placed a hand on the side of his own head. The shadows of tall leaves of grass surrounding them danced over both their bodies and the summer sun shone a shade of gold on their otherwise pale skin. Their hair seemed to glow brighter beneath the same blazing sun. The beauty of nature was one of the perks of being exactly where they were, a hide out only they knew where to find; their own piece of paradise. The abandoned field full of grass up to the knees— completed with a stream lazily passing through it— was nowhere near Bathilda, nor the passive aggressive insults of Aberforth or the helplessness of Ariana. It was only Albus and Gellert.
Albus studied Gellert's body, and Gellert did the same to Albus, who was using his knapsack filled with books and personal writings as a pillow. One of the books, which were all mainly divination thanks to Gellert, moved beneath Albus head with the simple 'flick' of his wand. His head sunk deeper into the outside of the knapsack as he plucked the book from where it now floated above him.
Albus opened up the cream colored, leatherback book to the first page and began to read. In the midst of the summer heat, Gellert continued to watch his lover, looked at the way his mouth slightly fell open as he read and noticed the way his thumb caressed the page, eager to read whats on the other side. Gellert was amused by Albus' love for fiction, especially muggle fiction.
"Haven't you read that one before?" Gellert asked, recognizing the cover.
"Hmm?" Albus hummed.
"That book. You've read it already, have you not?"
"Oh, yes," Albus placed the book on his chest, "you should know by now it's one of my favorites." He teased.
"And you're not bored with it?"
"Classics never grow old."
Gellert sighed and began to fiddle with a strand of grass, letting his hands — one of which had a puffy, pinkish scar running through it's palm— brush over the sharp blade of grass. As Albus read, Gellert peeled the piece of grass until it was nothing at all. Albus found humor in Gellert's boredom the same way Gellert found humor in Albus's love for fiction literature.
Suddenly and abruptly, Gellert stood up and began taking off his clothing one by one until he was clad only in his underpants.
"Now do I have your attention?"
Albus put his book at his side and laughed. "What in Merlin's name are you doing?!"
Gellert didn't answer, only ran towards the stream and waved at Albus, signaling for him to come.
Albus ran towards his lover, who was standing by a patch of cat's tail plant growing out of the water, tripping as he practically tore off his own clothing. Albus took a moment to feel the ground below his bare feet, to let his hand brush by a wild patch of daisies growing in the field and to feel the wind blow through his auburn hair before Gellert swept him off his feet and spun him around.
The pair laughed, interlocked hands once more and jumped into the stream. It wasn't all that deep nor was it too shallow, with the water reaching the highest point of their ribs. It wasn't warm nor cold; it was the perfect temperature for a summer day.
Albus smiled and splashed Gellert, who only did the same in return.
"I'd do this more often if I knew it would draw you away from your books." Gellert announced.
"Oh quiet, you."
Albus kissed Gellert on his full lips. Whenever the two teenagers kissed, it seemed the world stood still and all of their problems burned to ashes. Gellert took this as an opportunity to put his hands on Albus' soft waist. All puffy lips and teeth and tongue, their passion quick to turn into something else as one of Gellert's hand made it's way from Albus waist and finding its way just above his arse. Albus stopped to look at his partner.
"What is it?" Gellert asked.
Albus smiled, his lips red. "If I had never met you, I would have gone through life half awake."
"And what would you have been ignorant to?"
"Our place in the world. Our place as wizards."
Gellert tilted his head and smiled as he leaned in for one more kiss.
