AXTON'S POV:
I was angry. No I was beyond angry, I was mad. I made my way back inside the house and into my room. I looked out my window and saw Rylee helplessly tied to the tree. I knew how cold it was outside, especially at night. But the anger of what Zander said she said about my parents was too strong. I turned my back on her and marched away from the window.
I decided on dinner and went downstairs. The kitchen was clean and hadn't looked used. I was slightly confused, because I know Zander and i know that he doesn't clean. So did they not eat or something? I was confused but instead of investigating further, I made my way to fridge and then cooked some food. Once I was finished eating, I cleaned up my plate and went back to my room. With one last glance out the window, I stalked to bed and went to sleep. When I woke up the sun was glowing through the window and onto my skin. The warmth was amazing. I went down stairs and was enjoying my breakfast when I realised how quiet it was. There was no sound. And then it hit me, Rylee. I ran towards the back door but stopped running when I walked outside.
I looked towards Rylee in the distance and saw her still body laying against the tree. As I walked towards her I called her name. But she didn't wake. When I reached her form I saw her blue lips and blue cheeks. Guilt shot through my body as I kneeled down and she was not responsive.
"Rylee" I said a bit louder with panic evident in my voice. I shook her but she didn't wake.
I was quick to undo the chains and the collar around her neck. I pulled her close to me and her cold skin made me shiver. I rushed back into the house holding her in my arms. Her skin was cold against mine. What have I done? The panic was now setting in and I rushed her onto the couch. I wrapped her warmly in blankets but her skin was still a pale blue.
Not sure what to do, I picked her up once again and rushed her to my car. Making sure her body was fully wrapped in blankets, I put her in the back seat of my car and hopped in.
I started the car and sped eagerly down the dirt road. Every minute I would turn around and glance down at her lifeless state.
"Shit! Rylee stay with me! I shouldn't have left you out there." I mumbled to myself.
After cursing myself and speeding the car as fast as I could down the road, I heard a faint mumble.
"A- ax.." I heard Rylee's sweet voice whisper. I stopped the car and immediately turned to Rylee. Her cheeks were becoming more of a normal colour but she was shivering. I got out of the front and then slid in next to her. I sat her up and held her close to me as I rubbed her side and tried to give her warmth.
"A-axton" Rylee shivered.
"It's okay, Rylee. Try to get warm" I said. Her lips were still blue and goosebumps were evident on her skin. I undid the blanket and pulled her closer to me. I then wrapped the blanket over the both of us trying to give her my body heat.
I hugged her tightly and her skin was cold against mine. Her lip quivered as she spoke, "z- z- Zander he t-tried t-to.." I cut her off and said, "just try to get warm."
But she continued, "h-he t-t-touched me." she cried. My heart throbbed. I was confused. Was she trying to play me but why now if she was.
"What do you mean?" I questioned now curious.
She shut her eyes tightly and continued, "He was t-touching me and was going to r-r-rape me." she cried.
My jaw dropped. I wasn't expecting that. And I wasn't sure whether she was lying or not. But most of me knew she wasn't.
I pulled her closer. I was angry at Zander yet even madder at myself, for what I've done.
"I'm sorry" I mumbled.
"Those marks on your body what were they from?" I asked.
"Zander was hitting me with his belt." She cried. And then so did I. I cried as I held her. For some reason I didn't want to ever let her go again.
